Chipper Jones, a career .305 hitter for 20 seasons, had SIX, yes SIX seasons with a sub .300 BA and 3 of those where he hit under .275.
2009 really? Wright's biggest problem that year was his strikeout total. He still hit over .300 with 39 doubles. His HR total went down because the Mets built a ballpark with stupid dimensions.
Shocking that they move the fences in a bit and he's back on pace for 24 HR's this year, which is what he had always done when playing 80 some games at Shea. Would I like to see him drop his K rate? sure, but he's 29 at this point I don't think that's really gonna happen. He has ALWAYS been a 110+ K a year guy, but he STILL almost ALWAYS hits over .300 with around 20 HR's and 100 RBI... I'll take that.
