Traded or demoted ?? Every Met fan is disgusted watching him come up to the plate and batting 6th,the man hopes for a bb and swings at pitches in the dirt two feet from the dirt. He really needs to go Met fans are fed up.

I have a gut feeling he may be dumped soon, but don't be surprised if he's here at
least until the end of the year.

unless that swap with marlins takes place his release should be at end of year.
im sure sandy will try a bad contract swap if he can.

Despite the large contract, I can't see him on the Mets next year. He's been too horrible. Surely, even the Wilpons can see this is a hopeless situation with him?

They'll play him just about every game for the rest of the year and hope he shows something, and hope to deal him and about a third of his contract during the winter. If there's no interest he'll be back in LF net year.

If they didnt dump the guy or even bench him when the season stil mattered, why would the dump him now that theyre out of it? Then again rhis team does everything a$& backwards so wouldnt b that surprised.

It would just be an enormous sign of goodwill towards the fans to just dump this guy.....finally

I think we dump him in the offseason. Not worth 16 million a year to keep a player hurting the team on the roster. It will show the team that we don't care how much you are paid or what you have done in the past. Produce or you're out.

I'd send Bay down to AAA and bring back Duda (even when Duda was slumping he wasn't slumping as bad as Bay is) and Duda plays LF a lot better than he plays RF, now they could just religate Bay to a late inning Defense replacement b.c he is very sure handed in the OF,
they could start Duda and if they have a lead in late innings they can put Bay in b.c of his defense.

I think he's dumped after the season. The 2013 salary is a sunk cost, but I think they'll work out some sort of buy-out for the 2014 option (which the Mets weren't going to pick up anyway).

Nice guy, but he's toast. It would be best for everyone to part ways.

Duda is going to be their LF and if they keep Bay at all it will for late inning defense (he has played well in LF), if he ever starts hitting a lot better they could always platoon him with Duda
and eventually maybe be traded, but if he doesn't start hitting a lot better then he will be just a defensive replacement or be released.

Certainly Ron Darling alluded to "decision time" in terms of Bay's status by the end of this road trip...though it's more likely he'll simply be benched, despite the fact that will basically cost us a roster spot. No one would want him in a trade, and I'm not sure the FO has the guts to just dump the contract.

With Santana coming back, something has to give roster-wise...

let us pray. if he is still here this week-starting tuesday-the boo birds need to come out in force. it is unfortunate and the boos wil be as much for alderspin and owners, but if they continue to ignore the situation the fans must speak. those that still go to the games that is. i like bay but enuf is enuf. they should make the marlins trade if they can. if not bay needs to agree to go to AAA for rest of august to try and find himself.

One can only hope. The Mets did dump Perez and Castillo and took on their salaries. As far as a trade goes you wouldn't get anything much back except another bad contract. To complicate a trading him further Bay has a full no trade clause. Most likely he will take advantage of any opportunity that comes his way to get out of NY. One never knows what someone will do in a given situation.

Like I said they could use Bay as a Defensive Replacement (late in games) right now his defense is all he has going for him, or they could send him down to AAA, or they could release him, either way they should start somebody else in LF (I still think Duda will be their future starting LF).
