I mean Kevin just seems to talk wayyyy too much for every single thing. Maybe Gary did the same but Gary does it right.

Kevin just gets irritating to listen to. Agree?

I HATE it when people on this board love to blame a Mets loss on Gary Cohen.

Honestly Gary Cohen is one of the best in the business and yes he may talk a bit to much BUT he does it intelligently and he has a good sense of humor.

He is a PASSIONATE Mets fan and it feels like he's really one of us.

Are you kidding me?

No one is better than Gary Cohen.
His home run call is second to none.

Love his passion and enthusiasm.

He makes every game enjoyable.

Blame a loss on Cohen?

Huh? He just annoys me. He is more concerned with sounding smarter than everyone else in the booth than he is with simply calling the plays and asking the professionals their opinion on game situations, etc

However I can understand how some people don't mind him the way some people don't mind being nagged by their wives. They love him even though he's evolved into a freakin' monster.

Oh really? He's more concerned with that? Glad you could provide us with some examples.

I am always hearing Gary ask Keith what he would do in a 3-0 count. Or asking what is wrong with Ike.
I also hear him asking Ron how it feels like to have a no hitter going into the later innings and when he knows it. Or asking him how important is it to change speeds.

Cohen was good for a few years but he is no longer as much an announcer as he is an annoyer.

Keith in particular gets annoyed with Cohen when Cohen feels the need to play devils advocate after he asks keiths opinion on a game situation and Keith gives a thoughtful explanation.

even Ron almost lost it one night this year and
referred to Cohen as a lab coat wearing expert who never played the game

is that an insult? i bet ron inteded that as a compliment.
and even though he never played the game, he is extremely intelligent. He probably knows more about the history of baseball than both of them.

He is a student of the game, and most importantly, he is a fan of the game. I rather have him on the booth than a guy who knows nothing about baseball.

I forgot to mention that darling said he was TIRED of the lab coat wearing expert who never played the game . he was being sarcastic not complimentary. Coen is fine when he recites historical facts but he annoys people when he feels the need to give his opinion on game situations, managerial decisions, etc. That's what keith and Ron are there for....not cohen. He doesn't even realize he's doing it its not intentional just his personality.

I doubt it was intended maliciously. I didn't hear him say that so I can only assume that it was in a joking manner because Gary was in the booth. I don't see why Ron would make a rude comment with Gary is sitting right there.

Ron? He wasn't joking .
Anyway, very good chemistry between Kevin, Ron and Keith in the booth tonight. Everyone seems more relaxed and in a better mood..... Just like immediately after an annoying mother in law leaves the dinner table freeing up the supply of oxygen in the room for the rest of the dinner guests . Kevin has a future in the booth.

Kevin's voice and analysis are too weak. He's not ready yet.

Gary works "161" games during the regular season. Give him ... and Kevin ... a break.
