You are a d-bag. You make Debbie Downer seem positively bubbly with sunshine. Get off your knee pads and stop vocalizing your love for everyone but the mariners. If you could have gotten a gig with a national venue, you would have. Go watch some old Niehaus footage, you could learn a thing or two, or three, or four..... One more thing, I think you should stop waxing your own eyebrows...

Love,

Someone who really dislikes you in Oregon......

"If you could have gotten a gig with a national venue, you would have."

Obviously you didn`t know he is the play-by-play man for Westwood One on their Sunday Night Football games.
I don`t much like him either...just sayin`

If you want a cheerleading Homer for your announcer, why not root for the White Sox? You'll be very happy with Ken "the Hawk" Harrelson, the worst announcer in Major League Baseball. The Sox are "the good guys," the umps are "out to get us," and every time an opposing batter strikes out, "He gone!" Enjoy.

I'm not gonna join Dave's fan club, but over time I have gotten used to him.

Local play by play guys are what they are, imo it could be worse. They all have annoying habits. For example, I like Rick Rizz, but how about being more imaginative than referring to players alternately as either young or little ... example, young Jesus Montero, little Dustin Ackley, little Brendan Ryan, young Casper Wells. Geez Rick, get a thesaurus that has more than 2 words in it.

And based on interviews done with various media guys I've heard over time, I believe the toughest job in broadcasting is when your team blows. Dave's not in an easy position right now. If the Ms were in 1st place, you might like him as much as you liked Niehuas.

Okay, the eyebrows comment ... funny!

The first thing you should do is turn the sound off. Then if you really want some laughs turn on closed caption. Dave is such a mush mouth that closed caption has a hard time translating. It is really funny at times. I watched the game last night on the A's network. There announcers talked about the pending trade for Felix. I have never heard Dave even mention this. I wonder why??? Maybe he can only say what Mr.Z tells him.

Closed caption???? love it!!!! I wonder what the close caption does when he busts into his maniac giggling over some personal joke only he and his eyebrows understand... Now I have to google this Felix trade suggestion... Oy

It is ROOT sports. We all work for the man in our daily lives, including Dave. Even Vin Scully and the late Harry Caray know/knew who butters/buttered their bread.

And btw, the chances of Felix being traded in 2012 are 0.0001. In addition to a bunch of factors, he's pitched poorly of late, his MV isn't high right now.

Speaking of high, don't know what the As announcers are smoking, but given they are in the bay area, it's probably primo.

Frankly, it was a more thoughtful response than your post deserved.

My complaint is that I want the annoucers to be more candid about the team, but I guess that is impossible. A guy is hitting 0 for 23 and he gets a base hit, Blowers jumps in and says now we got him started. The guy then goes 0 for ten. I like it when the announcers are honest.

I am really sorry for anyone who allows "THE MAN" to censor them. i worked for over 50 years and believe me when I say "THE MAM" never told me what to say. You poor dumb drone. Also to even mention Vin in a discussion of Dave is like comparing hamburger to prime rib.

I make an effort to play well with others. I will not have to work for 50 years. I am not poor.

Possibly, there is a connection between these facts.

If you have nothing further on the subject of Dave Sims, baseball announcing, or related topics, we're done. People don't come here to read endless strings of complete nonsense.

Threads that are devoted to criticizing the announcers are childish. Really, if that is the best thing you can come up with and complain about, then why post or comment?

It is for any team. I never hear announcers get critical of the players. You mentioned Blowers, who is, I think, one of the more critical color guys I've ever heard. He will let you know what he thinks about a guy struggling. He'll point out what the player is doing wrong and often times will provide great insight into what a player is thinking, feeling, or trying to do to get better. We've had lots of former baseball players as color guys trying to explain X or Y or Z but they always come off sounding <dickish about it. Blowers cuts to the chase and sounds like a coach more than a former player.

Blowers might be the best color announcer period. I've really enjoyed listening to him.
