for real, you call up Carrera instead of him, when you have a struggling offense....i would even say call up the tim federoff over Carrera.....

I seriously would like to know what he did to get black-balled by the team. honestly.

Well... his problem is that he's not a good hitter. Look at his numbers over the past month and look at his home/road split. Dude isn't any good, simple as that. I would have liked fedroff over carrera as well, but laporta and canzler are what they are... AAAA players.

Carrera does have more skills than Fedroff, and he's been blazing hot the last 6 weeks. I'm anxious to see Fedroff as well. Have to think he or Goedert fill the 40 man spot at some point. As for Laporta, I agree. Guy has shown little progress this year and Goedert and Canzler deserve a look before he does.

Have to think Duncan is logically the next to go, and at that point I do believe we will see one of Goedert, LaPorta, or Canzler. My pecking order would go Goedert-Canzler-LaPorta...LaPorta has gotten significantly worse as the season has gone on, while others have gotten better, and LaPorta hasn't hit outside of Huntington Park all season. His average is like .250 with very little power outside of the friendly confines.

he hardly has the motivation to do well, the team clearly doesn't want him any part of it. I mean look at his call up earlier this season, he was doing better than duncan and damon (can't remember if he was even on the team yet); yet they sat him most of the time he was here; though he was the better out of the 3. ... again, this organization is just sticking it to him for no reason. He earned his chance earlier this season, didn't get it and probably ask the team to release him; but the org is slowly developing a record of treating their minor leagues poorly (see nick hagadone), they would probably rather him suffer in AAA then get a legit chance with another team. I would love another singles hitter (because our team is loaded with them) but i prefer the doubles power that laporta has shown in the past when actually given a chance (which was 1/2 of last season).

Fedroff and Goedert for the OF and LaPorta for 1st. Can see why LaPorta would be a little off and certainly may not be the answer but an improvement over Kman.

Kotchman has a War of -.7 this season. LaPorta had a War that at least was a + last season. The Tribe received better production last yr yet they stay with Kman.

But better defense with limited offense makes the team better....

He had a total 11 AB's in the call up. Whu should he play hard at AAA. I know I would be in the managers office daily asking to be traded or just released. When he put me in the lineup I would be sick or just go up and Hack at the first three pitches. I would be telling my agent to get me out of this hole.

So you think he deserves a callup now...because he could do well if he were motivated to? What about guys like Goedert or Fedroff or even Canzler who have been stashed in AAA all season along with poor ol' Matty? Being stuck in AAA hasn't seemed to affect their play at all, in fact they've gotten better as the year has gone on. And unlike them, LaPorta has over 1,000 PA's at the major league level where he WAS given a chance to show what he could do. I know, I know, he didn't get consistent playing time, but guess what, this is the major leagues. You earn consistent playing time by hitting well when you do play. He hasn't. Ever. In 1,000+ plate appearances.

Again, maybe when Duncan gets DFA'd LaPorta is the guy that gets the call. But I'm not going to lie, I'd much rather have the guys who have stayed motivated enough to hit all year than a guy who hasn't improved any aspect of his game since 2009.

Honestly, rather take a look at Anderson than LaPorta. Anderson is younger and his 50 something plate appearances at this level certainly should not enough to write him off. We've seen what LaPorta can do at this level. Time to move on from that experiment.

I agree, I would also rather look at Anderson as he is younger and hasn't had as big of a chance, but my next call up would sooner be to Fedroff or Goedert. Preferably Goedert since he's a righty that can play 3B as well as LF and RF.

"Whu should he play hard at AAA."

Why should Fedroff play hard at AAA? He has ZERO major league AB's. Yet he's hitting .377 with an OPS over 1.000. Why should Goedert play hard at AAA? He has ZERO major league AB's. Yet he's hitting .315 with an .870 OPS. Why should Carrera play hard at AAA? The Indians opted to sign a 40-year old Johnny Damon rather than give him an opportunity to win the 4th OF job. Yet he's hitting .294 on the year and over .400 in his last 10 games, been a one-man wrecking crew for the last few months.

Come on dude, even for you this is a stretch. He's not playing well because he's not motivated and he's not playing hard? Oh gee, can't wait to call him up!

Depends on who get's DFA'd next. If it's Duncan, I call up Goedert or Fedroff. If it's Kotchman I call up Anderson.

It's not going to be Kotchman, for the most part I feel like the team actually likes Kotchman, and at least he gives up good Defense. Duncan and Lopez both fail at hitting and defense, though they might want to try Anderson to see if he has any upside in the bigs.

Also, has Lars even played yet at all in Columbus. I can't find any stats on him there.

I could almost agree with you. But Anderson, in his 3rd yr at AAA, is hitting something like .258. Do not see how he's earned a promotion to the ML. He might do well in the short term but if he can be pitched to that well in AAA what will ML pitchers do to him. Hopefully they know of and correct some flaw.

But if LaPorta simply isn't good enough, why do they keep holding onto him?

I highly doubt if we enter the winter with Laporta on the 40 man. Canzler either. We have guys like Chen and Aguillar who are at their position who will need to be added and are much younger. Goedert has outplayed them both and Anderson is a good bit younger as well. Right now, no one who needs to be added to 40 man that cannot be added by major league subtraction, ie. Duncan and Lopez

Why would Anderson get a shot before LaPorta? I really don't know very much about Anderson except that he was in line to play 1st base for Boston until the trade for Gonzalez. I know LaPorta hasn't done a lot at the major league level but why not bring him up? The Federoff kid should be brought up too. Give these fans a break adaree because the Tribe is tough to watch now. To be honest I never thought it would get this bad. The Tribe has a 7 game losing streak and I wouldn't be surprised if Acta loses his job over this freefall. This is depressing to watch.
