Seriously? You have to remember, this is reality. Both teams have to at least think they're benefitting from the deal. You're not playing an MLB video game with the AI controlled settings turned off.

I'd be thrilled just signing Hamilton! But I'd hang on to Shane as our 4th OFer knowing the other 3 will be missing enough games to keep him occupied.

Boston will want Ethier AND pitching prospects we won't want to give up like Zach Lee or Allen Webster AND another lower level pitcher. Plus pay Gonzo's entire remaing huge salary. It is probably why no deal was reached earlier.

I think the Dodgers will look at Hamilton but I think they signed Puig to play right field if not 2103 def by 2014. Hamilton is going to want and prob get a pujols type deal and I think the Dodgers would be insane to do that. But the Dodgers did go after Fielder and they did claim Lee so I'm guessing money isn't a issue.

I'd like that team.

Or possibly no trade at all, move Ethier to 1b ST should be enough time to learn the position. Sign Hamilton, resign Victorino as a stop gap til Puig is ready.
