Right now I am very disappointed in Andre. While watching players of less caliber shoot rockets off their bats, I am sick of the foul balls, lazy pop-ups, little dribblers back to the mound and 2b. Just hit it hard Andre, forget about the rest. Go to LF with the pitches outside. I hate being critical of Andre, but enough is enough. If he can't cut it against left handlers, platoon him.

Dude,..come on. If a player fails to be what you built him up to be, it seems like you commonly blame it on injury.

The reality is that Ethier is 30 and only has one really impressive season under his belt. You blamed the pinky one season. You blamed the knee for a season. And now you are working on his oblique strain for this season?

Just admit that he isn't the player you built him up to be. He's not a "superstar". He's a "good complementary player". And that's OK,...because we need good complementary players on our team.

That's the rub. He's 30, and his career numbers are that of a good complementary player. His clutch numbers are nice, and his BA's are nice. Nothing else about his career offensive numbers is particularly impressive. Average power, average OBP, below average run production, terrible against lefties.....etc., etc..

They aren't "top performer" numbers for an elite MLB team. So, when he is treated as a "superstar" by our more biased fans - it gets a negative reaction from team reality.
