*******do you HONESTLY think Ethier would still have 11 HR if he hadn't gotten paid,********
sure, doesn't matter if he got the contract or not, he is what he isgood fielder, good arm, good hustle, 294 hitter , during april and may will hit for a ton
"i know there are some fans here on this board that put ethier into an super star lebel,"
Really? Can you cite some examples of that? Maybe a post or thread.
Never mind. I did a simple word search & came up with these examples. This must be the poster you were talking about...

But,..look who I am telling,....you're the guy that used to argue that Andre was a "superstar".

Then how about this?

Dude,..come on. If a player fails to be what you built him up to be, it seems like you commonly blame it on injury.
The reality is that Ethier is 30 and only has one really impressive season under his belt. You blamed the pinky one season. You blamed the knee for a season. And now you are working on his oblique strain for this season?
Just admit that he isn't the player you built him up to be. He's not a "superstar". He's a "good complementary player". And that's OK,...because we need good complementary players on our team.
I can though...

That's the rub. He's 30, and his career numbers are that of a good complementary player. His clutch numbers are nice, and his BA's are nice. Nothing else about his career offensive numbers is particularly impressive. Average power, average OBP, below average run production, terrible against lefties.....etc., etc..
They aren't "top performer" numbers for an elite MLB team. So, when he is treated as a "superstar" by our more biased fans - it gets a negative reaction from team reality.

...yea, Ranch was defending your earlier use of the term "superstar" to define Ethier, from a different thread.
....A thread that was lit on fire once you started getting razzed about your knee jerk "superstar" call.
EDIT: and there Ranch confirms it. Lots of people saw you call him a superstar in that thread, Billy. It's pretty weak to deny it just because you know the thread got flamed.

Give him a minute. I'm sure he'll be able to pull more out of his a**.
Exactly. So many of those threads he claims are gone are still there to bear silent witness to his delusions.

Finding examples of anything you say can be a struggle. Generally speaking, the rougher your argument, the harder you've tried to get threads deleted,...historically. That was certainly the case with the overwhelming majority of your Dre praise. Once he started tanking last year, you made sure that many of those Ethier threads went down in flames.
...and I'm not going to play the game where you act like you didn't say something, just because the threads get deleted."
I see. So you have no examples, yet 'The Streak' thread still stands. That was my thread btw. I've produced MANY examples of you calling Andre a "superstar." And you just recently produced an alleged quote of mine calling Andre a "superstar." What happened to that quote *woo? I asked to see it in it's entirety. You never complied. Can't you find it?
He would have to. Everything I'm finding is one-sided.

See now, he was only 'paraphrasing' what he thought I meant.
