...for assignment and recalled Jarry Sands.

Just saw this on twitter.

This is also my first post. Been browsing this forum for a while and thought I'd start posting.

It's Jerry. Jarry Park was where the Expos played.

Gwynn contributed earlier this year and for that he is owed thanks. He came through a fair amount over the time when they were really a cinderella team.

It couldn't last and didn't and the news is not surprising nor a bad decision, baseball-wise.

If this is true, the Sands Clan got their wish. Let's see what he can do.

In my eyes, unless he takes over 1st, this is a bad move. He will not benefit from filling Tony Gwynn's role. Pinch hitting is not the place for a cup of coffee.

I wished they designated Rivera at least tg2 had a glove and is good bat off the bench, Rivera hasn't done much since he came to this team.

I agree, a pinch hitting role for Sands when it looks like he might be figuring it out in the minors might prove to be a disastrous move. There is no better way of cooling off a hot hitter then reducing him to one at bat every two games or so. If he comes up and stinks it up again right now in a limited role, he might never get another chance at this level.

Exactly, yessir88. If they brought him up, I hope they have intentions of starting him.

Exactly Rivera should have been the one to go, and it would have made more sense because, Sands would have seen more at bats.

Who's our lefty bat off the bench now tho? I guess loney, if Sands starts. However that leaves Rivera as the odd man out with Uribe and Hairston.

Maybe Uribe is the next to go..

Rivera is on this team for a reason.... His bases loaded walk yesterday that may have been the biggest at bat of the game with 2 outs. All of you so called appointed GM's of this team who want this guy gone and that guy gone. Do you really think the Dodgers would be where they are right now if they would listen to all of us? Didnt Rivera come off the bench a few nights ago and go 2-2 when they needed him to ph? Hasnt Loney had a few hits that resulted in RBI's that mattered in close games the last two weeks? Uribe even gets lucky a game or two and helps win a ball game. All these guys are still here for a reason and management knows why!!

Who needs defense when you have three gold gloves in your OF? There won't be many defensive substitutions for them because we need their bat.

He could run, though. But, he can't hit...at all.

Rivera can play 1B and OF. He's not good, but he can.

He has to at least be coming up to take Rivera's role, platooning with Loney and giving Andre some relief against tough lefties. Sitting him makes no sense.
