Not that I bothered to read all of that..... it is WAY to early to plan on free agents who may or may not have be signed well before next offseason ....... but dont forget all of the inevitable players who will not be offered contracts by their teams............. this will be another big field of players to pick through.

I didn't realize my cut and paste would make this difficult to read. Much easier if you click the link.

Why not split it into two posts?

I see a lot of names on that list who are players Ned typically likes to sign. And that's in no way, shape, or form a good thing.

If you look at the list of 2013 Starting Pitching FA's and potential FA's there is nothing there that excites me except for Grienke, Peavy, Shields and Santana and the last 3 have club options. The scary part though is there are a lot of Harang's, Capuano's and Lily's on the list and Coletti likes to sign those kinds of guys. Hopefully he has learned his lesson.
I'd like to see the Dodgers sign Napoli, he can catch and play 1st base. An upgrade at both spots.

Peavy actually does excite me. I think he's had a really good year this year.

However, remember, we still have the sexy trio of Lilly, Harang, and Cap for 1 more year. Combine that with Kersh, Bills, and likely RDLR, we'd need to dump one of those vets to bring in a stud #2

He liked to sign them because they were all he could afford, methinks.

I'd love to outbid the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for Greinke's services next year and show them who's boss again.

We could deal one of the Lilly, Capuano, or Harangs if we wanted to eat some salary. They're all serviceable.

Cole Hamels seemed like a given come winter. Him staying in Philly really screws the dodgers free agency.

I was thinking the same thing.

Lets see if he implodes pitching for the playoffs in Anaheim first

I expect the Dodgers will seriously discuss every offensive player of value including Hamilton, Napoli, Berkman, LaRoche (if the mutual option is declined), Youk (if option is declined), and Victorino. I can't imagine that Loney will be our firstbaseman next year. My hunch is we will make a push for Napoli, but he'll decide to go elsewhere to stay behind the plate and we'll end up with LaRoche. I think we will then resign Victorino for way too much. We may try to move one of our starting pitchers and sign Grienke, Peavy, or Dempster but my hunch is we will stand pat.

1B LaRoche
2B Ellis
SS Gordon
3B HRam
RF Ethier
CF Victorino
LF Kemp
C Ellis

It wouldn't be a bad line-up. Sure, I'd much rather have Napoli at first and Hamilton in left, but I doubt that's going to happen.

I guess I'm just hoping for the obvious pick ups. Greinke or Peavy , Hamilton and Napoli. I have a feeling that our new ownership is going to flex its muscles and make at least 1 big splash.
