"Dee Gordon dislocated his right thumb and will have an MRI tomorrow."

Only Dodgers starter to not hit DL are Loney, Ellis and him.

he's going to be out a couple months. All the people blasting Dee will now get to see Luis Cruz at short and Juan Uribe at third. Yippee boy does that sound great.

Here's to all the people who wondered why Dee didn't steal every single time he was on base.

No pro player has been hurt sliding?? Thats ridiculous. Just for one, how about Mark Teixera. He got hit with a pitch a couple of years ago. When the next hitter hit a ground ball Tex tried to spike the 2B. He did, but he also hurt his ankle.

Hate to pile on, but I have expected this for awhile now. You buck the odds going in headfirst. Kemp does it a lot and Gordon got off easy with just a dislocation, could have been a broken wrist or who knows. Its a bad approach in technique and will be interesting to see how Dee does when he comes back. You can't teach unaggressive behavior when the intensity is so high during a game....its almost impossible to stop it.......its the price tag.

*******he's going to be out a couple months******

ok, thats your take, here's dee's take
Gordon, who suffered the injury while stealing third base, was unable to use his right thumb after the game after trainers put it in a splint and wrapped it.

The 24-year-old was unsure how long he would be sidelined but hoped to play Thursday in Arizona.

"Hopefully I'm back in there tomorrow. I want to be," Gordon said. "We'll see."

This is why I love the kid, what a difference between him and ethier, ethier "feels something" and takes a month off

Gordon is a gamer. That's why I still want him there.

So what's your problem with Ethier? He plays through a hurt finger. He plays through a bad knee and everyone knows how lingering those obliques are. Anyone who thinks Andre goes on the DL just for kicks needs to wise up. Not liking him is one thing; accusing him of malingering is quite another.

I don't think there's is anything wrong with Ethier. He probably wasn't going to play until after the All Star break anyway, and in order to activate Mark Ellis, it was easier to put Ethier on the 15 day DL (retroactive to June 28th) than to send somebody back down for the next 4 games before the break. He will come off the DL on the 12th of July just in time for the first game after the break on the 13th.

"...ethier "feels something" and takes a month off...."

YOu're being sarcastic right? Because Ethier has played hurt a lot throughout his career.

Why did you address that to me....I'm SAYING players get hurt a lot sliding into bases! The other poster was using it as another excuse/reason why Dee Gordon shouldn't be playing in the MLB. that's absurd.
