yes clearly we should give up on a top prospect after half a bad season. I mean that worked out so well when we did it with James Mcdonald, Pedro Martinez, and Paul Konerko.

Maybe we can trade him for a utility reliever or middle reliever.

Gordon is very young and needs more time to develop. He has tons of speed, a shaky glove and an inconsistent bat. He should still be in the minors learning. He was rushed up. And no, I do not know of anyone who could take his place at this time, it's just frustrating...kinda of like watching Uribe EVERY time he comes to the plate.

no he wasn't. He played every level in the minors and he had almost 1900 at bats in the minors. He hit 333 his last year at Triple A.

He had done everything he could do in the minors. Lots of rookies struggle. At this point it's time to play him and see if he can hack it in the bigs.

if pierre put up those numbers as a shortstop it would be a different story completely, but he was a corner outfielder (with us at least) and that changes everything. Unfortunately for him, he was born left handed, otherwise he just might have become a shortstop and would have been a much more valuable baseball player.

yea i hate when people just throw out the "so and so needs more time in the minors!" once you get to your mid 20's and played at AAA you have done all there is to do in the minors. at that point the only way a player will continue to improve is by playing in the majors.

Dee has shown some improvement, he needs to have this season to show whether or not he has the potential to be our guy at shortstop. putting him at AAA would literally accomplish nothing.

No you wouldnt.

Pierre has a worse avg againt lefties than Dee Gordon does. Pierre does his worst hitting as leadoff.

Gordon has greater offensive upside than Pierre. Not to mention obviously younger :P

Our leadoff hitter in Gordon is one of the last things we need to worry about right now.

he's a rookie. Jesus people are acting like we haven't seen hundreds or thousands of rookies struggle across major league history.

Kemp hit 250 as a rookie. Kershaw had an era of 4.26 and a whip of 1.50, Konerko hit barely over 200 over his first 3 tries in the bigs.

It just takes time sometimes. Gordon just turned 24 and he hit very well in the minors. He has tons of upside.

That being said it makes no sense for him to bat leadoff.

his only upside is his speed on the basepaths. never played good defense and never hit for power. too bad, his obp is below 30 %.....
