It's all hypothetical but what a team we would have if we could package our problems:

@ SS-- Gordon for Castro
@ 1b-- Loney for LaHair
@ P--- Bills for Garza

Lineup:

3B-- Herrera
SS-- Castro
CF-- Kemp
RF-- Ethier
1B-- LaHair
LF-- Abreu/Rivera
2B-- Hairston Jr.
C--- AJ

Rotation:

Kershaw
Garza
Lilly
Capuano
Harang
Eovaldi

Lol, only if only.

Castro is one of the brightest upcoming star in the game along with Stanton, Harper, Trout, etc. He can't be traded, come on.

I'd kill to have Starlin Castro. The Cubs aren't going to trade him though. He's still young. If they're gonna trade, it's gonna be their vets.

He's the perfect player to rebuild around. Absolutely makes no sense.

Yeah, you're right. That would be nice...and impossible to pull off.

Not trying to be mean, but you don't have the talent to acquire him unless you did something ridiculous and offered us Kershaw. That would be ridiculous on your part.

What about Lahair, though. The Cubs can't use both Lahair and Rizzo. They're gonna need to move one or the other.

The announcer from the Red Sox and Cubbies game made some sort of reference to them trading almost anybody to totally rebuild and that they'd be three years away from any decent team. They may trade him, but I don't think we have enough stud prospects to get him anyway. They won't take flotsam and jetsam.

Almost anybody. I don't think Castro is included in that. He's young and fairly cheap. This is only his third year in ML. I think the Cubs would rebuild around him. If there was a possibility to get him, it would take so much, it would create other holes. I think it's extremely unlikely that the Dodgers get Castro in trade.

Sure, if you're talking about MLB The Show where we can override ridiculous trade requests.

Why would a rebuilding Cubs team get rid of their best player who makes the league minimum? Terrible idea.

LaHair can be had. No idea what the price would be as far as talent goes. He can be had as far as the rumors I am hearing. I honestly believe he could really help the Dodgers. Just making sure you let Loney start against lefties though.
