Hey everyone

I was thinking of a song people can sing for Fukudome in right field and when he comes to the plate. Im not sure how many of you have heard of a British boxer named Ricky Hatton, but he has a huge following and when he faught Mayweather in Vegas all his fans came from across the pond and were singing his song and the Fukudome song is the same tune and it goes like this:

THERE'S ONLY ONE FUKUDOME....

ONE FUKUDOME....

WALKING ALONG....

SINGING A SONG...

WALKING IN A KOSUKE WONDERLAND

For those who never heard the Ricky Hatton song, it goes to the tune of Winter Wonderland.

It would be pretty cool to hear 40 thousand singing this at Wrigley!!!

Just trying to have some fun. Not trying to win a grammy. If you did actually here when they sing that song for Ricky Hatton you'd probably think differently, but I agree, if I just saw the words, I would think it's pretty bad too. I've attached a link to you tube when they're singing the song:

Fukudome steps toward the dish while white balloons ascend and the bleachers shall part as Ronnie Woo Woo leads the chorus "THERE'S ONLY ONE FUKUDOME..." as the others join in...

Well done sir.

As I am from the UK and a massive Hatton fan, i know the song you are on about, not sure that it would have the same effect at a ball park as it does in a boxing arena.

Just out of interest, why is it that singing or chanting does not seem to have a part In US sport, as it is such a large part of sport in Europe and Soth America.

I love my baseball and enjoyed my trip to Wrigley two years ago and I am not sure that singing or chanting has a place in baseball, but I have always wondered why this does not tend to happen at US sports events.

maybe we're more interested in the game than getting a song going

Maybe so, but just because fans sing or chant does not mean that they are not interested in the game.

Because we're more into the game. We would rather pay attention to what's going on that to start a chant.

Fair enough. I am not saying either is right or wrong. But surely there is enough stopages in a ball game for there to be a little sing song once in a while. How about having celebration chants after a certain player hits a HR.

I support Liverpool football club, go to you tube and just check
TORRES SONG - THE KOP - LIVERPOOL v NEWCASTLE

to see how fans react when he scores a goal. Torres is a Spanish international who says he gets a massive kick from hering fans chant his song and it makes him more determined to play well.

Singing a song after a home-run? How about, no?

It's just not happening.

For the same reason soccer is popular worldwide, but widely ignored in America. Because soccer is the lowest form of sport. That's why it attracts such violent and ignorant people; it's the easiest game to follow. Anybody can turn on the tv and understand exactly what's going on in a soccer game; nothing.

Americans aren't going to sing at our sporting events. Next thing you know, you'll want us to start soccer riots because the team lost...

"Just out of interest, why is it that singing or chanting does not seem to have a part In US sport,"

Hmm, you've got a point there. Maybe we could introduce some singing to the game. Maybe some traditional song we all sing at some point during the game. Maybe, just maybe during the 7th inning stretch..oh wait........
