Rookie browning looked good for 2 innings, 6 up 6 down

Kelly was a great move now browning, Hopefully they can bring In another pitcher to help out. Marte pitched great in triple a for a week but again gave up runs in relief today

IMO, it has been obvious for weeks now that the bullpen needs a super major overhaul. At least it appears the Cards are attempting to make some changes. Too many injuries this season to key players, and I'm afraid this season will soon be one of assessment of ready or near-ready farm talent plus maybe a solid acquisition or two for the long term. Cards can't get in or succeed in post season with the bullpen of the past few weeks.

As stated ealier,this team has a pungent aromatic to the sour end flavour through and through.

No doubt there has to be some changes if we plan to have a shot this year but at least Kelly and browning look good so far . We have to make a move and pick up someone via trade and settle down this pen . We have an incredible offensive lineup and we need some consistent pitching!

But what are we willing to give up for said pitching?
if it can be found..
quality lefties are always scarce and expensive..
same for a very good righty..relief..

plus do we want a rent a pitcher?
or are we gonna shell out for years...

Good question, was wondering the same thing, I just know that Jim tomme just got traded to the o's & the sox picked up their 3rd baseman. I'm not sure who u trade or if anyone is gonna give up a decent pitcher

We're really stuck right now, it seems. There's no way we're gonna be able to get the 4-5 bullpen arms worth a sh*t at the trade deadline that we really need. We're gonna have to give up some big pieces right now, or just let this be a 3rd place team with the best offense in the NL that cant hold a lead. If there's a worse bullpen in baseball right now, i'd love to see it

I agree it's not just one pitcher that we need. But I hate to see us just do nothing and continue to be a 3rd place teAm especially with all the talent we have. Maybe picking up a veteran pitcher to stablize the pen would help without giving the farm to get um

The whole bullpen is ineffective right now, and has been for over a month............so i think we need more than just a rightly and a lefty to fix things. If something isnt done very soon, we're gonna be a 3rd place team that can score runs and not protect leads. Guys like Sanchez and Zep should be DFA'd to send a message

One great guy could take the load off a few guys.

The bullpen did it's job TODAY, but they cant seem to put together multiple days of getting the job done. I'm just getting sick and tired of seeing good starting pitching getting pis*ed away by bad pen outings. We're not gonna win with that pen

Hey Utex....Methinks that it is about time to think about next year,etc. This bunch is destined to flounder around the .500 mark it, seems, for the rest of the summer. Just when I begin to visualize a comeback and there appears to be a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel it turns out to be a run- a- way freight train. In this case the Pittsburgh Pirates. Just about everything is going against us...starting pitching one day, lack of any offense the next and the Bullpen fails the next. It just goes on and on. Methinks, we also used up all the goodies "Dame Fortune" has in her bag for us last fall. I still wouldn't change a thing. Whatever disasters await us the remainder of this season we will remain World Champions 2011. If that is in any doubt, just check the Baseball Almanac 10 years down the road and that simple fact will be emblazoned in the list of World Champions....Go Birds. Postscript..If it sounds as though I am living in the past rather than the future, I definitely am. I have more of the former than I do the latter.

I think the cards are gonna make more moves soon, carp isn't likely to return and so we have to move on. Everyone wrote us off last year too and we win it all! It's way to early to give up or think it's hopeless ! I think we will make the necessary moves to strengthen our pen
