From todays js article that stats Mark A is supporting Ron, and this slow start isn't his fault,

texasbrewer's comment

Ron is a manager that needs strong leaders in the clubhouse. This team has zero leaders. Prince was the last clubhouse leader. I ask who is the leader on the team? Weeks, Braun, Hart, Lohse...nope. Every good team has a captain and we have nothing.

Leaders we have lost for a number of reasons...Prince, Cameron, Hoffman, and Cirillo just to name a few.

This is is not on Ron. It is on Melvin for not having a leader on and off the field.

Is that the official "vote of confidence" meaning he is soon to be gone, or is it genuine? I haven't seen the article for the context.

Here is the article, so you can decide for yourself. If you ask me I think that it's genuine.

I think he'll be gone at the end of the year if they don't turn it around. That being said, Roenicke is just the manager, and the guys that are actually playing the games aren't getting the job done. I think Mark A and Melvin would be wise to make necessary roster changes before they blame it all on the manager.

How does Melvin go about finding a good leader? I wonder if there is a list somewhere of guys that are good leaders. Some said that Lohse was a leader...I guess they lied. We should probably trade Braun cause he will never be a leader.

I don't watch baseball much, but I like watching the Brewers. However, everyone needs to understand: They'll never have a championship team without the a big spending owner. PERIOD.

Last year we were 10th in payroll, the world champion Giants were 2 spots ahead of us
Two years ago we were 17th in payroll, the world champion cardinals were 11th
three years ago we were 18th in payroll, the world champion giants were 9th
four years ago we were 17th in payroll, the world champion Yankees were 1st
five years ago we were 15th in payroll, the world champion Phillies were 12th

over the last five years the champion was top 10 in payroll only 3 times. The Brewers' best seasons came when they were 15th and 17th in payroll and from 2011 to 2012 they were 12 games worse with a payroll increase of roughly 12 million dollars.

In this market, I just don't know how much bigger of a spender you could ask for and spending more doesn't guarantee any more success.

Just such a common misperception that you have to spend the most to win in baseball.

In the last ten years world champions have come from 25th in payroll Marlins (2003) to the 1st in payroll Yankees (2009) and the majority of winners have been outside of the top 5 in payroll.

It is just funny though that he said we needed an owner that will spend more $. Mark A has increased the payroll drastically. It would be nice if we were able to develop pitching. That is where our problems start in my opinion.

I liked the comment where they were complaining about our closer. Lol the closer is the least of our pitching problems. Then another complaining that we can't afford to keep our good pitchers. There really haven't been many other than C.C. and Greinke. Spending all that $ is going well for the Dodgers so far.

yeah I don't think the big problem is spending a ton to keep pitchers we traded for. It's developing ones of our own that we can have for the full six years of pre-arb and arb. Plus, we've signed plenty of older pitchers (Wolf, Suppan, Lohse, Looper, Davis) they just don't often work out. And we're just not gonna have enough money to sign multiple top of the line free agent starters, that's just the way it is in Milwaukee.

"Has Weeks learned to bunt to help him out of his slumps? The answer is probably no, and the "teacher" (RR) puts no pressure on him to do so!"

LOL best one in a while! Because wasting outs always helps struggling players get out of slumps.

"the "teacher" (RR)"

lolol, yeah a lot of big league managers spend time teaching their players how to bunt.

Some people are too negative, and yeah it is funny me saying that. There is this article about how the team is amazed at what Segura is doing and some person had to leave a comment on a breakdown of what is wrong with the team.

Facebook was full of comments saying this about the 1948 uniforms...

The Brewers weren't a team in 1948.
What a fail. Using Brewers on a Braves uniform.
I have an old Uecker jersey and it is a BRAVES jersey.
It was the Braves back then, not the Brewers.

The post even stated these were AA uniforms for both teams. I wanted to shart a Mazda.
