Baseball Today Update...a regular feature of MIKEwaukee (when I feel like it)
Josh Hamilton returns to Texas as an Angel and gets booed...big deal he was right. Arlington (Dallas) is not a baseball town. It's a football town.
Some guy named Prince Fielder hit two homers in his teams home opener. It was against the Yankees who I don't see having a good year. I predict they finish in 4th place in the AL East. Prince on the other hand I see having a monster year. Last year was a slightly off season for him and I think he's determined to rebound...and will.
Phillies-Royals play interleague this weekend. It reminds me of some of my earliest days as a baseball fan. 1980 World Series I believe. I don't have vivid memories of the games themselves but I remember when the Royals were a good team with Herzog, Brett, Quisenberry, Wilson. And then the Phillies with Mike Schmidt, Tug McGraw, Steve Carlton. I played strat-o-matic computer game simulations of those teams so many times...
