My MLB.TV has been turned off for the last week due to lack of funds and I haven't been able to watch any of the games. In that span the Braves are 1-4, coincidence? I don't think so, I will be watching again on Monday with my Braves jersey on to help get the team back on track. That's how it works right?

For fun

Freddie Freeman ?@FreddieFreeman5
Guess who just landed in Colorado! This guy! So pumped to get back out there!

Dexter Fowler ?@DexterFowler24
@FreddieFreeman5 relax guy...I know you brought some of your country girl lotion scent!! #bestsmellingguyintheleague

Can we trade BJ Upton for Dexter Fowler? Do you think JUpton would be upset by that?

Pretty sure most of us here really didn't want Fowler in the offseason, I know I didn't.

Today is a day to celebrate...not the fact that we got no hit by Baltimore back around the turn of the century...no, not this one...or even that today's date was the Babe's first ever professional game that he ever played in...and it's not even the strange game where the White Sox score 11 runs in one inning...on ONE hit.

Anybody know what historical event for the Atlanta Braves took place on this date, almost 50 years ago?

Something with Warren Spahn?

Oddly I did just notice Warren Spahn's first game was April 19th.

well, 50 years ago from today, the Milwaukee Braves stomped the Dodgers 10-2.

But that can't be what you're referencing :-p

I need to make a Freeman avatar for his return. I don't understand why the only one I have is of him hugging McCann who is making a weird face. Maybe I'll use that for Mac's return.

A week prior to this the Braves beat the Mets for an equally historic win...they started out the year losing 2 to the Pirates, lost 2 of 3 to the Mets, and then swept the Phillies to set up this game....that's about all I can say without telling you what it is.

Look at the date everyone!!!

Derp... First game in Atlanta?

The "almost 50 years ago" actually threw me because I knew 66 wasn't 50 years ago.

The first home win...after also beating the Mets a week earlier in NY for the first win ever by an Atlanta Braves team.

The Braves started out in Atlanta losing a 2 game set to the Pirates ten days earlier, then went on the road.....before they returned to Atlanta, they did sweep the Phillies, which was kinda fun for me. :)

That makes more sense, but really the 50 years thing was a bad hint because I took it too literally and ruled out 1966. (:

I remember the Braves marking the 40th anniversary of the move, the 50th should be something special.

Then that made it a GREAT hint....like I tell my kids and grand kids, pay attention to details! :)

I doubt that most people who come here were even around back then...it doesn't seem possible that it really was almost 50 years.

BTW...on that 11 runs in one inning for the White Sox...I had to look it up, but in addition to the one hit, they were the recipients of 3 errors, one HBP, and 10 walks.....5 of which were with the bases loaded.

5 baseloaded walks sounds quite painful to watch if your team is dealing them.
