Well Chavez was just DFA'd by the Jays which opens a spot on the 40 man.... What's going to happen? Signing or Activation or Callup?

Signing candidates:

DFA'd INF Yuni Betancourt (ew)
Released INF Mike Fontenot (meh)
Released 1B Lyle Overbay (meh)

Activation?

Must be an activation...Morrow? He just tweeted he's leaving Florida.

Doubt we sign any of those guys you mentioned, wouldn't make any sense.

Once again AA gives a pretty short leash to a veteran pitcher.
I still believe that if Chavez gets some playing time in, he will become a decent starter.

Fontenot could be a solid utility off the bench, also Overbay could hold down the fort offensively and defensively until Edwin's heel is better and Linds back is better.

But yeah I think Morrow's gonna get activated

Chad Jenkins was added to the 40-man roster and was assigned to the Toronto Blue Jays (MLB). Jesse Chavez designated for assignment and was removed from the 25-man roster while remaining on the 40-man roster. He will be optioned to AAA Las Vegas after his waiver arrives from the Commissioner. The Blue Jays now have 40 players on their 40-man roster.

Why?

I don't think he needs to be on the 40 man. Also, we don't need him in the MLB level, I'd take McCoy over him given the circumstances.

No. Carpenter was DFA'D 2 days ago. We had 1 roster spot, and Jenkins filled it. Now we DFA Chavez and have another spot open

Morrow will remain on the DL while on rehab. This move opens a spot for Shawn Hill.

Ya but he is on regular rest to start Tuesday. He threw just over 100 pitches Thursday. Spot start for Villy who is on personal leave.
