Any word on what is happening with him? He might as well of had tommy john surgery when he first got injured because it sounds like hes going to be out for the season anyways.

Apparently they said he didn't need surgery... last piece of news is that he started playing catch on July 25th: <https://twitter.com/ShiDavidi/status/228222528001298433

he'll try and comeback and then get surgery next year. Should be good for two months though.

I'm not a doctor, but I'm going to go ahead and offer a medical opinion anyhow: The decision to not operate was plain dumb and will come back to bite him and the Jays.

to offer an opinion on something one knows nothing about is beyond stupid

"he'll try and comeback and then get surgery next year. Should be good for two months though."

Two months next year?

Because there's already less than 2 months left in the schedule this year.

"I'm not a doctor and don't have a clue, but I'm going to go ahead and spew my negative <bullshit as usual."

You're an idiot. Seems like others already have this covered, but thought I'd throw my two cents anyway.

"Derp, I'm no doctor and have no clue but here's a chance for me to be negative and draw attention to myself! Here is my ignorant opinion everyone!"

Under the impression that it isn't the UCL that he damaged. Tommy John surgery on a healthy elbow ligament, while the injured ligament heals would be very stupid, no? He does have a partial tear/ sprain of the Annular ligament correct?

As I recall, lots of people on here were of similar opinion when it was announced and probably still are.

Pretty much everybody on here form ignorant opinions all the time and pass it off as informed. I'm certain you've done it too. <So go fuck yourself.

I think you're probably right on all accounts.
It may be Hutchison that doesn't want the surgery. Ultimately, it is his choice.

We all saw how well that worked out for Santos.

You should definitely bookmark this thread, and remind people when Hutchison goes in for his season-ending surgery next year.

Again, pretty sure he injured a different ligament. Tommy John surgery would not apply.

It's his UCL. That is the TJ ligament.

You think the team can force him to have surgery if he doesn't want it?

I liked what Hentgen said on the fan a week or so ago.. He told Hutch that he had the exact same issue and chose not to have surgery. Ten years later it finally blew up on him and he needed TJS.

Well if he can last 10 years and then his elbow blow up im all for that. By that time he probably wouldnt be a blue jays anyway.

If it is the UCL you are correct. I was under the impression that it was not.

Of course, they just have to force him down and administer the drugs to him against his will. Teams do it all the time, duh.
