If you read between the lines I dont think Jose is talking about some Jeremy Guthrie/Kyle Kendrick type of aquisition.

I love the chicken and egg statement he made. Glad he's aware of it. Also sweet to see Jose bring up the big talk in winter/spring that has gone quiet of late.

Doubt Bautista has anywhere near the weight needed to change Rogers' corporate position/vision (whatever). This probably signifies JB's internal clock starting to tick in regards to playing for a contender (although there's no situation as of now)..

prob will be the huge name mentioned in media reports next season if Jays dont make any moves or dont improve in the standings

Put 3-5 prospects in a package and go get Felix Hernandez.Then give up another good prospect or two and go get Garza.Keep this line-up together at whatever monetary cost for the next 2-3 years,and re-build the minor leagues.Prospects are only prospects and are never guaranteed to be successful in the majors.Time for AA to stop thinking about 2-3-4 years from now and go all out.Set up this pitching staff to compete for a few years.This staff needed an upgrade anyway,so go big and set the team up for a few years right now.
