I am sure some of you know who Fishbone is! One of the greatest bands ever created down in Los Angeles in the early Eighties.
I've been a huge fan since 1983 when I bought their ep on cassette! I was only a sophomore in high school!!
Anyway I've seen Fishbone many times when they were one of the hottest bands in the world but it had been 17 years since I have seen this band live.
They are on their 25th Anniversary Tour right now and they opened up the West Coast Leg in Oakland on Friday night! The New Parish is such an incredible intimate club. Great sound and the ambiance is fantastic. Wendy and I had dinner next door at Hibiscus. Incredible southern food. The fried chicken and shrimp and grits was to die for!!
Anyway after dinner we got into the venue right when the opening band Funk The Band started to jam.
Upon entering this fantastic venue I bumped into Angelo Moore! The Legend! The front man on the sax! Dr. Madd Vibe himself! I told Angelo that I loved him and he shook my hand and said "Thanks man!!"
I was so happy that words can't describe how at felt at that instant..............................................
The Fishbone Boyz played for over 2.5 hours. Killer ska, funk metal rock, punk sh i te all night long!!
The crowd was going nuts! There was moshing and stage diving all night long!!
I was watching from above in the balcony right above this legendary band.
Dirty Walt was back in the band. Original member who plays the trumpet and sings.
Norwood on the funky a s r e bass was off the charts literally!!!
I hope this thread will excite at least one of you to respond.
Fishbone is truly one of the most underrated bands in the world.
I figured that since my wife and I saw them in Oakland that it would be worthy to write about on here.
OAKLAND A'S BASEBALL = "TRUTH AND SOUL"

Love,
