Moss is a mess!

Of course Moss is a mess. Like I posted numerous times when he was first called up, Brandon Moss is an outfielder - not a 1st baseman! And I predicted he would not succeed as a 1st baseman. Well of course I was berated incessantly for making such negative comments. Well guess what everybody.........I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!

Should I dump Eric Hosmer for Moss in Fantasy?

Moss can learn to play 1st base. Barton can't learn to hit.

I completely agree with you. Unfortunately, Moss is 0 for his last 11 with 6K's. If I know Billy, Barton will be the A's starting 1st baseman by the end of this week.

He's 6 for his last 39. I'm not too optimistic about him resurrecting his average to the .250 range, but he does have some power, so leave him there for a few more weeks and see what happens.

Oh, I absolutely agree with you. I'm just terrified that Billy is desperately looking for an opportunity to bring his boy Barton back up to The Show. And I fear that Moss is going to be on an extremely short lease because of Billy's deep feelings of love and affection for Barton. Personally I'd prefer to see you playing 1st base if Moss fails, but unfortunately Billy's heart belongs to Daric - not you! LOL

EDIT: Remember, Brandon Allen only got 7 AB's before Billy gave up on him in favor of Barton. So Moss is already on borrowed time.

I've been convinced for quite a while that Daric Barton is Billy Beane's love child. If he replaces Moss with Barton I will have more confirmation.

Allen posted an impressive .616 OPS in 154 abs last year but I'm sure that had nothing to do with him being shipped out! This Allen fixation is pretty hilarious. He's been dumped by every team he's played for because he stinks. I hope Moss improves, but he had his one great week and now he's regressing. I'd love to see him become a 2012 Jack Cust, but I doubt it will happen. Kila? Not one team picked him up when he was DFA'd because he stinks too.

If Moss doesn't hit (and he's shown he can't field), who do they use to replace him? Can't be Carter because statues are better at 1b than him. Kila is a Hawaiian Brandon Allen who can't play. That leaves Barton who also isn't a good option. Frankly, I would prefer they not bring Barton back because of the incessant whining that will provoke on this board, but who else is there? Can Gomes or Smith play 1b? Is there another player in Sac? I simply don't know.

Geez Cat, RELAX! I was just goofing around. I am well aware that every 1st baseman that has been on the A's 40-man roster this year stinks. Trust me, I could care less about Allen or anyone else for that matter. I've gotten to the point where I truly don't give a sh!t who plays 1B anymore - including Barton. That position is a total lost cause, and it will probably remain so for the foreseeable future. I'm done worrying about which piece of crapp will rise to the top of the toilet bowl on any given week. Plus, if you remember correctly, on the day Moss was called up I predicted on this board that he would fail, and that Barton would be back by July 1st. Moss is simply doing his best to prove me right!

BUT, I still think BeaneBall would be a better option than Barton at this point.

My bad. I'm just excited about the team and how positive everything has been that I don't want to revisit the Barton period.

And I think Beaneball might be a better option. Heck my 14 year old who led his team in slugging %, was second in steals and was solid at 3b might be a better option! At least I wouldn't have to buy his game tickets or food!

If folks wanted to give Kila two months of guaranteed AB's for his level of contribution thus far, I would think they'd be even more willing to let Moss weather an ML schedule.

I think the majority of A's fans are more than "willing to let Moss weather an ML schedule" - if for no other reason than it would keep Barton in AAA where he belongs! LOL
