I know alot of people are calling for Schafer's demotion or release but I am not sure if the front office feels the same way. They may be willing to give him more time in hopes of him turning it around. This has been brought up before but Schafer's season at 25 compares to Bourn's first season at 25.
Here are the numbers:
Bourn 2008: .229 BA, .288 OBP, .300 SLG, 5 HR, 29 RBI, 10 2B, 4 3B, 57 R, 41 SB, 10 CS, 37 BB, 111 SO, 467 At-Bats
Schafer 2012: .219 BA, .307 OBP, .305 SLG, 4 HR, 23 RBI, 10 2B, 2 3B, 40 R, 26 SB, 8 CS, 36 BB, 101 SO, 302 At-Bats
Who knows what Schafer will do but if he had a rebound similar to Bourn's we would all be pleased.
