How in the hel l is this guy still in the major leagues? It must be his lofty .213 average. Does he think he's still a pitcher because that is what he's hitting like. Wait, maybe because he's hitting so well as a pinch hitter. That does not justify keeping him in the majors. talk about taking up a roster spot. There has to be someone in the minors that can produce more than this. Very unimpressed with Luhnow for keeping this guy on the roster. Every time i watch him at the plate, he looks overmatched. then I watch him let a ball go right through his legs in Milwaukee. He's out of it and should be sent down now! However, this could be said for a few other players as well.

You said it, he can pinch hit and play all 3 outfield positions. That is why he should be in the majors. Now can you tell me why Schaffer is in the majors?

He has speed and some pop. Can play all OF positions and pinch run. That is the perfect 5th OF guy.

That's the problem with this team. There are many solid backup outfielders but not starters. The only outfielder with a halfway decent swing is Martinez, and his play leaves much to be desired. Schafer strikes out way too often. That last AB against Kimbrel was just ridiculous. He just looks clueless way too often.

I prefer Schafer over Bogey. Bogey is a 28 RF/converted pitcher who is playing a position where we need some offensive production.

People give Schafer alot of <crap and alot of it is due but Bogey has been even worse.

Bogey 2012: .213 BA, .299 OBP, .313 SLG, 6 HR, 22 RBI, 8 2B, 11 SB in 99 games

Schafer 2012: .219 BA, .309 OBP, .306 SLG, 4 HR, 23 RBI, 10 2B, 26 SB in 92 games

Schafer isnt much better but he is doing better in a few departments and plays a far less demanding offensive production position. Bogusevic has been terrible.

Also jut to throw it out there, Schafer is batting .254 with RISP, Bogey is batting .162.
