I have to disagree. Think about it; 5 of those 7 ER this month were in the non-save situation Royals game, which we still won. Only one of the runs he gave up yesterday was earned; we lost due to shoddy defensive work mostly. In short, he's blown just one save this month, last night, and it wasn't even mostly his fault. Outside of that KC game that wasn't a save situation and we didn't lose anyway, he's been fine (1.93 ERA).
This is why you don't cite reliever's ERA over such a short sample; it's usually meaningless without context. Myers has come out of the bullpen 11 times during the month, and yesterday was the first time in which he cost us a win, and it wasn't all his fault even then. I'll take that in a closer any and every day. Some of the statements about him <sucking and just not being very good and melting down regularly are simply inaccurate. It happens to ever closer ever. Wagner, Lidge, Valverde, Lyon, Melancon and now Myers; it just takes one or two bad days for the ERA to balloon due to sample size and the fans to start hollering and screaming about how they couldn't pitch their way out of a paper bag.
