The performance of Haren in Cleveland is now surpassed by Santana. These two starts are embarrassing. We cannot keep putting these guys out there and pretend to compete. Pujols is also looking more and more like Well2 with his .273 batting average. The 4th of July was a tough day to be an Angels fan.

Albert looks great! (WELLS?????) The fact that Santana is a mess early actually will save us tons of money and gives us the hint early...not to trust him. I never did. The guy is a head case.

Haren has a dead arm and needs 2 weeks off. His pride is getting in the way! Once he has a little time , even if his arm is not what it was...he will figure out how to pitch differently and succeed like MADDOX did!

Like most I have been disappointed by Pujols' start, but to compare him to Wells?
AP was hitting .197 in April and his average has jumped up almost 80 points and will likely end up near .285-.290, not a typical Pujols year but a nice comeback.
Wells was hitting .220--and stayed there...

Saying Albert looks great is an exaggeration.

He doesn't RUN the bases, gets caught attempting to steal more times than he should, has made some bad throws which cost the Angels runs, and while he's also made some utterly fantastic catches, he does not look GREAT.

You don t know what great is then... He's over 330 in the last 6 weeks and plays gold glove first base with power to go with that 330. To compare him to Wells is insane. At this rate Albert will hit 300 with 25 HR's and 100 RBI's.... NOT GREAT? Close enough.

I never compared him to Wells.

And the throwing errors he's made, one just the other day, kind of take away from that Gold Glove caliber defense.

He's not the Pujols he used to be.

It's probably because his real age is closer to 35.

We all know that you have no proof of that.

Prove it.

The only thing about Albert that is 35 is the sour grapes all you boo-hooing Cards fans are obsessed with.

Pujols is better than Wells, but is very unlikely to live up to his 10 year contract.

If Pujols had Wells, contract, it would have been a fair and acccurate depiction of Pujol's worth.

Two years for 10 million would have acceptable and accurate for Wells.

Doesn't this thread belong on the Ranger message board? They just got swept by the White Sox and got just 2 hits today.

Another thread better suited for the Rangers message board.

No doubt. Move it over there and it will get alot of activity.

1st sweep of the year. About all I can say is the Rangers will still be in 1st at the AS break...(by at least one game). The gate has been open for you guys. You just gotta beat Baltimore!

You guys had only 3 batters in every inning but the 4th with 5 batters. This place would be exploding if the Angels did that.

But everyone knew his price was 4 years 80 mil and Reagins (ha) did that with his eyes wide open

And take these useless players in Napoli and Rivera with you

I like how you are completely incapable of accurately voicing other people's positions on subjects. Can you show me where anyone has ever said this?

Of course not, but I think his performance will speak for itself. He's doing much better now, as I predicted he would. But his numbers continue to decline a little bit each year. You don't just suddenly get better at something physical when you're north of 30, you get worse.

It's common sense.
