Hunter hit some absolute bombs in Colorado. That's why he's up there. They said Trumbo hit one over the left field pavillion in batting practice at Dodger Stadium. The only two I saw do that were Mark McGuire (batting practice) and Willie Stargel ( live in a game over the RF pavillion).

Back when the Summer Olympics were in LA in 1984 (stone age) Baseball was an exhibition sport and we went to some games, they were set up as double headers the first rounds. Before one of the games USA vs. Italy we were there for batting practice and this was our best collage players (maybe some minor leaguers), all young, anyway Mark McGuire was one of them, they were bombing the deep Pavilion with homers in BP and even durning the game McGuire hit an HR it was 2-3 rows form the back. The USA beat Italy 16-1. They were using Aluminum bats so that provided some extra oomph, the USA bombed away in those games, but lost to Japan in the final 6-3. The Olympics seemed to mean so much, durning the cold war.
