Wow, I had him on my daily fantasy baseball league ready to pitch tomorrow. Now I'll have to lose that start. Maybe I can pickup whoevers starting in his place. Too bad.

When Colon came back to baseball last year suddenly throwing harder than he had since he was in his 20s I said here more than once that I thought he spent his season out of baseball using PEDs while he wasn't being tested, and naturally everyone here told me I was just saying that becuase I don't like the Yankees. He came back with the cover story about some new "procedure" he had. Right, like there is something "new" about a needle full of PEDs in the butt.

did Colon use the same Website designer as Melky?

upside: testing is catching players (so maybe no more staged, phony-baloney "I'm-going-to-get-back-to-you-ANY-DAY-NOW-with-the-TRUTH" shows ala Big Poopie)

downside: players still trying to game the system -- wonder if they tried Manny-being-Manny's "masking protocol"?

Maybe when he was out looking for facial enhancing drugs, Bartolo grabbed the wrong bottle........

Bartolo Colon gets 50-game ban

Oakland Athletics right-hander Bartolo Colon has been suspended 50 games after testing positive for testosterone, the commissioner's office announced Wednesday.

The suspension, due to violating the league's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, is effective immediately.

Colon, 39, is 10-9 with a 3.41 ERA this season for the Athletics. He won the 2005 AL Cy Young Award while with the Angels.

"The Oakland Athletics are disappointed to learn of today's suspension of pitcher Bartolo Colon," the team said in a statement. "The organization fully supports Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program and its efforts to eliminate performance-enhancing substances from our game. Per the Basic Agreement, the A's will have no further comment."

Colon's suspension comes one week after All-Star Game MVP Melky Cabrera was suspended for 50 games without pay after the San Francisco Giants outfielder tested positive for testosterone.

"downside: players still trying to game the system"

Considering the amount of money involved, gaming should always be expected.

Do you have proof he juiced last year? Maybe he started juicing this year because he dropped off so much last season. Sure the odds are likely that he has been using for awhile, but of course with you everything negative in terms of the Yankees is an automatic.

I enjoyed that troll pointing out your hypocrisy with the Cody Ross curtain call btw!

Yes, that's true. Just like Manny didn't start juicing until after he left the RS. I mean, check his stats that year while he was in Boston, then check them after he got to LA. Pretty huge differnce. Sure the odds are likely that he has been using for awhile, but of course with you everything negative in terms of the RS is an automatic. How's that?

A's have 40 games left. So that would knock Bart out for up to 10 games in the playoffs---looks like he won't be making the trip assuming Oakland grabs one of the playoff spots.

I wonder if MLB's tests have caught up with a PED that was sailing through before? If so, there could be a lot of nervous players out there.
