Put that in here..

I make a promise here and now that I shall never make another thread about trades or such ever again..!

Good idea. Fwiw, I like the Guthrie trade, I predict he will be measurably better than Sanchez. I dont think DM will trade Butler, he's asking for the moon and is entitled to it for a bat like Billy's. Broxton and Francoeur are the two most likely to be dealt along with Mijares, Yuni and Getz. Jmo.

I am all for moving Broxton.. expecially after last night.. Francuer as well.. But the piece "chip" I think we should trade alot of people dont want to do.. Meyers Should be let go and packaged with prospects for somebody elses up and coming ace.. I suggested Matt Harvey from the Mets.. Whom are coincidentally on the hunt for Bull Pen help.. ewww I just got this super duper Idea..

Gerrit Cole or Taillon <---Brickhouses buddy from pirates thru Mets <--- Have to figure this out
Jeff Locke from Pirates
Matt Harvey from Mets

for

Butler Pirates
Broxton (Mets)
Crow (Mets)
Lamb or Will Smith or dare I say Montgomery? (Mets)
Francuer (Pirates)

and probably one other piece

I dont think DM will trade Myers. I think he wants him in RF for many years to come. Imo, DM will keep this young core of players together and try to acquire starting pitchers thru FA signings and trades not involving Butler, Perez, Hoz, Esky, Moose, Gordon, Odorizzi, Herrera, Holland and Myers. Imo, anyone else could be dealt for pitching.

That one other piece better be huge. Lamb/Smith/Montgomery don't have all that much current value. Neither does Broxton. Neither does Frenchy.

I think DM is going to go balls to the wall to sign one of the big FA pitchers, namely Mr. Greinke and/or Shawn Marcum. I don't he will be a finalist for Garza, Dempster or Hamels b/c those pitchers will require players DM doesnt want to move. I think we will continue hearing DM being in on 2nd tier pitchers like Maholm and others.

Not sure why people keep bringing up Greinke as a FA possibility. He doesn't want to be in KC. He admitted he "gave up" his final season here. Why would he sign with KC?

Because KC has a lot more going for itself than it did 2 years ago. A lot more. He wanted a chance to win _at the time_. At _this_ time, KC is going to win if it finds someone just like Zack. It's common sense that he'll think of KC this offseason.

Show me where he said "he doesn't want to be KC" His actions a few years ago said that...but he hasnt said it this year. He had a chance to say it back when the Brewers were here and he didnt. Its my opinion he and his wife likes KC, they kept their home here, they made alot of friends here. I'm not saying that adds up to Greinke signing here, i'm saying he's open to it and so are the Royals.

I to believe that Greinke could be a viable option to signas
a FA this off season.

I think If DM is quickly able to sign or even trade for a very
solid SP, that would go along way into helping convince Zack
to return home.

Zack enjoyed his best moments as a majorleaguer here and
is very comfortable pitching at the K.

Doesn't Grienke like to hit and more likely to stay in NL?

Yes he has been on record as saying he enjoys hitting.

I'd be surprised if thats his number one critera in determining
who he might sign with. With Zack you never know.

He also has been on record as saying he very much enjoyed his tome
pitching in Kc.

I posted this idea in another discussion and wanted to see what everyone thought.

I like to offer Broxton, Francoeur (replaces Gregor Blanco in RF), and AAA prospect (Lough, D. Robinson) to the Giants for Ryan Vogelsong. He has pitch well for them and is their #5 starter. He is signed through next season at $5 million and we would have a club option for 2014 or $300,000 buyout. He will be 35 years old next season but would be a good fill in for the next couple of years without having to give up any top prospects. His salary definately fits into our payroll budget. Here are his statistics for this season,

W L ERA G GS CG SHO SV SVO IP H R ER HR HB BB IBB SO AVG WHIP GO/AO
SEASON 7 4 2.31 17 17 0 0 0 0 116.2 93 31 30 9 6 37 4 84 .219 1.11 0.91

The Giants may want to stock up a few outfielders since several of their starters will be free agents next season, including Melkey, and Angel Pagan.

There is no way the Giants do that.

If I were the Royals I would be focusing on the Mets and the Pirates... Those are the two teams desperate to make this season something else.. They are also the two teams with Top pitching prospects.. Something WE need.. While they desperatly need big Bats something the Royals if you believe it or not have a small surplus of...

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe says dont dismiss the Yanks possible interest in the Royals Alex Gordon b/c Brett Gardner is out for the season, also says the Royals have inquired on Jason Vargas of the Mariners. I would be very surprised if DM trades Gordon, I see Francoeur as the only OF'f being moved.

I was just about to post about the Yanks inquiring about Gordon. Ysnkees have nothing to offer the Toyals. Their farm system is depleated.

Like what?

Two years ago we had the promise of our talented farm system coming in to bail us out of our misery.

This year we have the promise of our young and talented players bailing us out of our misery.

Which of those things has truly materialized?
