When you send out AAAA starters every night, bad things are bound to happen. God love them, Mendoza & Mazzaro are going to a gun fight with a knife.

So the question is clear...when does Odorizzi get the call? I say by 6/27.

July 7th at home against the Chi Sox.

I tend to think it will be whenever Chen's or Sanchez's arm finally falls off, and the choices are Will Smith, Ryan Verdugo or Odorizzi.

And I think that is imminent.

They could, however, decide that they've seen enough of Mendoza and/or Mazzaro, but I think we'll still be seeing both of those guys with the next injured arm.

I'm just waiting for the imminent Kyle Davies signing.

Not sure it matters who the Royals pitch as long as the offense does not start to produce. Actually the starting rotation has pitched pretty much as expected (poorly) the offense has been a major disappointment.

Exactly. Hitting suc<ks. Really frustrated as management still won't address grass situation in of. Clearly affecting gordon, frenchy, and maybe even Hosmer. Also think Hosmer needs to shave. It might clear his thinking.

If no one else gets hurt............and that is a big IF...............then I don't think we will bring Odorizzi up until after the All Star break.

Got to make sure he gets in that futures game. More important than helping this team. Same with Myers.

I can't recall who it was, but I heard an interview recently that the Royals were looking for Jake to pitch deeper into games in stead of 95 pitches in 5 innings.

This may be because he only pitched 2 and a thirds on Friday, but I did see Vin Mazzaro walking out with the relievers to the bullpen before the game. Odorizzi's next scheduled start is Wednesday, the same as Mazzaro's next start. I'm probably reading too much into that, but still interesting.

What?! We simply have no room in our rotation for somebody that can pitch more than five innings!

I wouldn't read a whole lot into that. Mazzaro was probably just down there to get some work in between starts.

But..............who knows. You are right about Odorizzi. His turn comes up on the same day as Mazzaro's.

AND he can pitch five innings with a pitch count of 95.

That may make him our Opening Day starter next year!

Yeah. Forgot there was not batting practice today, so no bullpen sessions for the pitchers....but we can still dream, right?

Don't get me wrong. I'd be beyond fine with seeing Odorizzi brought up right now.

But I don't think it is happening this week.

But it is possible.

I think we will see Myers and Odo up here not long after the AS game. It just seems there is more trade talk lately and the Royals have been in some of it. With the way the team is going I can see something happening soon. I think either Billy or Frenchy may be traded with Myers coming up and either DH'ing or playing RF.
