I was in favor of giving him the ball in the 8th, he deserved to have a shot to win this. Tough decision as a manager to have th econfidence to do it, and know you will be crucified by media and fans if it dont work. Dusty this year has managed the pitchers as good as any manger could possibly do. Sitting Stubbs for Heisey was another good move that he needs patted on the back for as well because Heisey was big and without him in there we still could have lost, because the chance that Stubbs gets on base that many times dont usually happen in 2 or 3 games let alone 1.

105 pitch count wasn't too bad and Homer looked "on" tonight.

i didn't think it was a "stupid" move, but it's one i would not have made.

if it were me, Frazier would have hit for Homer in the 7th.

Arredondo would have then pitched the 8th....

.... giving up 3 runs and taking the loss

LOL

Yeah he has not lived up to expectations in the minors.

I was cringing and cussing after the first 2 got on but Dusty leaving him in went a long ways in

his maturation as a legit big league pitcher. I'm gonna start giving up on players before the season

starts more often because I wrote Homer and Frazier off and touted Stubby as come back POY.

PURE GENIOUS!

I was for it. I go back to the Detroit sunday night game and I was furious that he pulled him. Though, Baily was looking stronger in that game than he was in this one, I still like leaving it up to the starter to get out of his own mess if he doesn't look like he's getting tired.

But let's look a little further, Bailey's hit had a lot to do with this win IMO. It made Votto the 2nd hitter rather than the 3rd hitter in bottom of the 8th. Cozart starts the inning with the same popout he ended the previous inning, we leave the bases loaded there.

Bailey was the real "player of the game".

A gutsy call that obviously worked out. Dusty gets raked over the coals when he makes a bad decision but give him credit for staying the course here. The best outcome from this aside from the win is what it could do for Bailey's confidence as the season moves on.

Homer would not of been back out for the 8th if the BP was fresh...He really didn't have a choice. And no, I am not knocking Baker.

I was thinking maybe it was time for him to get pulled, but when we stuck with him I was all on board. Was thinking to myself that this would prove how much of a man he was up there on the mound. Maybe Dusty had the same idea?

Not trying to be critical here, just wondering why the bullpen was not fresh? They just had Monday to Thursday off and as far as I know were not overworked in two games. Now Chapman, on the other hand, was used a 3rd day in a row which I was all for and worked out great, but he is not available today and possibly not tomorrow either.
