Why has Gentry not been in the lineup for 6 or 7 games? The kid is hitting in the 320's, steals bases, gets big hits, plays terrific in the field, etc. What is up? I love Murphy, but why was Gentry not in there against a lefty?

Because Murphy's been tearing it up with the bat lately.

The crazy English language always screws me up too.....LOL i.e. If you're sad, you shed a tear...but, if you're mad you tear something up. Go figure!!

The problem i have is michael young playing the field over gentry. Young has been the worst player in the mlb while gentry has been one of the best players on the team.

Considering that Gentry doesn't play 1st, 2nd, 3rd or shortstop, where do you expect Gentry to play over Young in the field?

Yeah should not have to even ask that question.
The day Young goes out to right, left or center is the day I worry about Young taking time from Gentry.

Simple fact is for Gentry to get more time means Murphy will get less time. *which may not be a bad thing since he has been in a slight slump for the last week*

Murphy could DH with gentry in CF and Josh in LF.

Considering the way Ron Washington supports his veteran players, I'd be highly surprised to see Michael Young riding the bench before he becomes a coach.

Okay, this has nothing to do with this thread, but.............. RW quote I saw today concerning the upcoming schedule:

""Our might is going to be challenged," manager Ron Washington said. "We'll put on our cement boots, stand tall and play each game as it shows up. We can't run from it. It's on the schedule."

Are cement boots anything like a cement overcoat? Hope we don't go to NY and wind up at the bottom of the East River wearing our cement boots! L

Wow, Lou Brown, that's profound! Of course, maybe the reason Dorn is so bad defensively is that he's wearing cement boots? Or maybe it's a cement glove?

I can just see his chest puffing out while he said that.

His speaking skills are about equal to his managing skills. He does pretty well most of the time but he throws a clunker once in a while.
