Watching todays game, and another mighty fine win. I just can't get past the numbers on the uniforms and the logo. The numbers look cheap. For example, the 7's look like a 2 with the bottom cut out. The 2's look just wrong. And the logo of the bad pirate is getting beyond old. It was actually old when they brought it in. It's similar to the Steelers, their numbers look cheap too. It seems they can't afford real numbers in a block or 3D style si they got them off some guy in the strip district. Bring back the 87-96 logo. That has some class to it. And in regards to the uniforms, I prefer the sleeveless. But anything is better than what they have. I want to buy Buccos stuff, but the stuff is ugly.

I don't have a problem with the numbers or logo but I hope I can buy a shirt with a name on it that is still with the team a year after I buy it . I quit buying them after purchasing a F. Sanchez , and J Bay . I think it might be safe to buy a Cutch .

You are the Isaac Mizrahi of sports uniforms. I didn't like it when the Pirates added red to their color scheme for awhile. I like the hat better now than the two tone older model . As for sleeveless , it would be nice to see the classic uniform rolled out on occassion but the current version is fine although I agree with you about the numbers.

The red period was the mid to late 90's wasn't it? - I have to say, I kind of liked it.

During that same period, didn't they have one version of the hat that had some gray in it too?

They had a hat with the majority of the cap grey and the visor black.

I KNOW the feeling. You spend quite a few bucks and a year or 2 later they're gone.

The red was on the bill wasn't it? Maybe the yellow P on the front was highlighted with red too?

Fans at every home game puts those old hats back on display including the old boxy hats from Chuck Tanner and Teke's time as well as the mustard yellow two tone but I rarely see the grey model.

Also, to me, the Pirates, like the Stillers, are black and gold. BUT, as I posted to another, I did like the grey and black hat.

He's a fashion expert. A designer actually.

The grey was the first style I owned. I would wear them until they were sweated through and fell apart. I think I had 3 or 4. I actually randomly came across them in an old hat box a few weeks ago. Since then I've just opted for the plain black.

I had a fitted black one for so long (it fit perfectly) that it faded into a purple color. I loved that hat.

I currently alternate between wearing two black ones with a yellow P and a white one with a black brim and a skull and crossbones logo.

I like the black one the best. It was their hat all during the 1960s when I was growing up.

As for the uniforms, my preference is for block numbers, like they wore with the sleeveless uniforms during the 1960s. To me, the simpler, the better. Block numbers are very sharp. (The old Steelers uniforms were the best in the NFL. These ones with the rounded numbers look ridiculous to me.)

We had Bay for like five years.

I also truly believe this organization isn't going to trade these players anymore unless it's to upgrade in a baseball trade.
