From Roch:

Now it's Ryan Flaherty's turn to start at third base. He's handling the hot corner for today's game against the Indians after starting in right field last night.
Wilson Betemit stays at first base. Matt Wieters is batting seventh again after homering in that spot last night.

For the Orioles:

Brian Roberts 2B
Xavier Avery LF
J.J. Hardy SS
Adam Jones CF
Wilson Betemit 1B
Chris Davis RF
Matt Wieters C
Mark Reynolds DH
Ryan Flaherty 3B

Dana Eveland LHP

For the Indians:
Shin-Soo Choo RF
Asdrubal Cabrera SS
Jason Kipnis 2B
Jose Lopez 3B
Michael Brantley CF
Shelley Duncan DH
Casey Kotchman 1B
Lou Marson C
Aaron Cunningham LF

Josh Tomlin RHP

I really hope Flaherty plays a good game at third. Somebody has to.

Betemit's and Reynolds' flaws "hide" better at first base.

Chris Davis in right is a stopgap, of course. Markakis is shooting for coming back in time for the Tigers series right after the All-Star break. None too soon, IMO.

The Orioles are 42-34 and they cannot finish the first half of the season worse than .519. That would necessitate losing their next 5 games. Ain't gonna happen.

Not the kind of luck Eveland needs.

Perfect. An early 2-0 deficit. Just what we need.

COME ON Dana.

This is a team, and a pitcher, that we should beat. With no trouble, I might add. So let's go. And no more double plays. Not in the mood for a loss today.

We haven't seen much of him out there but Avery's inability to throw the ball accurately is concerning. He doesn't have a powerful throwing arm but on target throws would help make up for some of that.

Ok so they bring in Hunter now were losing 5-1 in the 4th. Does anyone know if they even let Dana stretch his arm out this week or they just pitching him out of the pen thinking his arm is used to pitching 80 pitches.

This may just get the ticket for Norfolk punched for one Tommy Hunter.

He can't start and be consistent. He Can't relieve and get outs. Norfolk bound and the sooner the better. Why have an inconsistent reliever in the pen as an extra player when he is ineffective???

Eveland is not a starter in the AL East but has been effective in his relief roles. A keeper??? Not in the long term but for now I would let him ride the pine in the bullpen and use him in the best leverage situations.

agreed I was at the game today and I was livid on how tommy was pitching. Tommy was awful today. But others on the team didn`t play well either. I think Buck needs to work on communication issues with the players.
