Baxter and Bay had 2 hits each in rehab...better than Niewenhuis and Torres...and Duday.

I wouldn´t mind Baxter Bay and Valdy in the OF.

I've had enough with Kirk and his strikeouts every other at bat.

Wow, I didnt know Baxter was game ready, I thought he was still hititng of a T and rehabbing. I hope he comes back quick and plays well, same for Bay but after almost 3 seasons of dl stints and severe underperformance I have no faith he will ever be a productive hitter again, not with the Mets anyway, trade him to another team and magically his offensive # will come back.

Just read Baxter could rejoin the team THIS weekend. They want him to get 25-30 at bats in the rehab stint. I was under the impression he was very far off. That's fantastic news.

lately Duda has been striking out every other AB and Bay has been striking out every other AB for 3 seasons.

Valdy Hairson and Baxter would be the best option right now based on merits.

The players you are mentioning are all bench players so far. What leads you to believe that they could handle the everyday jobs of being our outfield? Small sampling doesn't always work out in the long run. Just look at Nieuwhenhuis and the way he has collapsed after his great start.

Hairston and Baxter have produced over some prolonged time as starters. Valdespin is the only one that hasnt had consistent starts. Ride them while they are hot and then readjust when they get cold. What I do know is that Duda and Kirk are pretty much automatic strikeouts at the moment.

Baxter had 60 abs in 45 games how is this a prolonged time?

Kirk hasnt necessarily collapsed, teams figured out how to pitch to him and he isnt making any adjustments. i think he could be a good player but it wouldnt hurt for him to have more time at aaa. because he isnt making changes. pkaying at the ml level is all about making adjustments to pitching. eventually whatever has you red hot at the plate will be figured out by pitchers

before the injury he was consistently starting. I aint talking a full year or half year, but at this point if you are hot for a week, you get the job.

That would be VERY helpful. The swoon the Mets have been facing coincided with his injury (don't believe it was the no-hitter at all).
