The number of scoreless innings is ridiculous.

Getting into their heads is half the battle. When these teams play us, and know they have their work cut out, it changes everything

>Thing is, this is the way it is all over the baseball. Welcome to Non-Steroid baseball again. I remember Gary Carther once saying "I hit 32 home runs when it MEANT something". Hitting a 95 mph slider isn't easy.<

>IIRC, I thought Howie and Josh said we were tied for most with 10. I could be wrong, however.<

Yup, it's a different game now than it was a few years ago. That's why when Capuano had a 4.50-ish ERA for most of the year last year and people were saying he was "solid" for us, I didn't get it at all. That actually placed him in the bottom half of #5 starters in ERA in the NL last year. Some people haven't realized yet that game has changed dramatically.

No, it DID change dramatically: in the steroid era. Now, it's coming back to something approximating normal. This is supposed to be a low-scoring game.

>It's just returned to form. Guys that hit 40, 50 + home runs consistently are special, once in a generation type guys like Mantle, Killebrew, those kind of guys. It just shows how hard this game really is without cheating.<
