Chris Perez remembered he was ... Chris Perez.

Not surprising.

Yes, Chris has stunk it up his last 2 games.

He has 4 blown saves.

So does Jose Valverde.

No point in comparing the Indians players to Tigers players.

They actually win games.

Agreed about Valverde.

Of course, the Indians don't have Cabrera/Prince/Verlander/Scherzer/Fister/Porcello/Sanchez/Jackson/Boesch/Dirks/Young/Berry/Peralta/Infante/Avila/Benoit/Villareal/Coke/Dotel/Below to fall back on.

Let alone, when Castellanos/Smyly/Rondon/Garcia/Oliver come up. The Indians got nobody like that, either.

I don't understand the whole idea of kicking another team's fan base when their club is down.

I don't like New York, Boston, or Chicago, but I wouldn't do that even to them, if they were losing.

What's the point?

Not everyone is like that guy.

The sad thing is, is that we sometimes get our impression of another teams' fans by the trolls that drop a line on our repective board. It's usually either when things aren't going so hot, or near post season time.

I don't know what has happened to your club, but it's got to be maddening enough. The last thing you need are annoying comments from without, designed to get a rise out of you.

what would bother me on that kotchman error was that perez wasn't even covering 1st base. so even if kotchman caught the ball, morneau is standing on first.

What happened here is pretty clear to most, and it's on many fronts: poor drafting has left the upper minors barren; an over estimation of existing talent; poor trades of star players that brought little in return; a core of talent that has ability but no real stars; an owner unwilling to add pieces through free agency. This perfect storm of upper management failure has come crashing in over the last 11 games. A totally new direction is needed and that has to begin at the top. Ownership either starts to hold people accountable or the mediocrity will continue. Sadly, I have little confidence this will occur

Is tigfan4lif even a Tigers fan...I mean, does he even post on the Tigers message boards?

He seems like he exists simply to troll these boards.

I respect you very much and appreciate you being a civil fan of an opposing team. That's rare these days.

I don't recognise him. He's probably from *elsewhere* trying to stir the pot between Detroit and Cleveland. I wouldn't say that's always the case, but alot of times it is.

I think the civil fans are fans of their team - but also fans of the sport as a whole. I've seen you on the Tigers' board. You've been nothing but civil over there.

You guys are going through a really rough patch right now. I hope they snap out of it. Like, today.

We have had enough bad impressions over the years from fans who came here who were White Sox fans, Boston fans and Yankee fans. We have had really good fans from the Angles, Texas, Seattle and the Twins along with a couple from the Royals who have been welcome here because they were good to talk with and didn't come here with an attitude. There have even been a few Tiger fans who have come here and been very nice, a lot of others not so nice.

I don't go to the New York, Boston, or Chicago boards.

I wouldn't troll, but I'd probably end up arguing with someone, and then I'd probably end up making some troll-like post.

I look at clubs like yours, mine, and other smaller market clubs as being a whole lot more alike, as far as the fan bases goes. If we were treading water, or sinking fast, I'd be rooting for another blue-collar team to win.

Maybe it's just me, but doesn't it seem like Detroit and Cleveland very rarely are competing for the division at the same time? I don't mean like this year and last - but throughout the decades. Once in awhile it happens, but usually, if you guys are good, we stink, and vice-versa. Since about 07, though, there have been about three seasons where we were competing at the same time. The last time before that that I can remember was in about 67-68. Other than that, it's one or the other.

To me, there's never been a rivalry because of that. Too bad, because we're so close together. It would be pretty cool.

I would not consider teams that sign Prince Fielder to be small market.

LOL okay thanks, I was looking around on your board and I couldn't find him anywhere on there. Dude claims to be some die hard Tigers fan yet he seems like he only exists to troll this board...kind of sad LOL.

Agreed....Illitch basically spends at a deficit every year. We'll see what they do after this season if they don't win it all, considering how they were "all-in" this year. Young, Valverde, and Laird are free agents after the year (none of them are irreplaceable obviously), and they have fairly expensive options to pick up on Peralta and Dotel. Their arbitration class will be expensive as well with guys like Avila, Fister, Boesch, and Jackson up for the first time, and almost the rest of their rotation up for the second time. That's going to be an expensive, expensive roster heading into next year.
