    • Why Zito?

In the face of a loss yesterday why is Barry Zito starting? Is it because the administration feels it is politically correct to do regardless what the fans think? If we were to take a vote it would be unanimous not to start Zito., yet he is definitely starting. This tells me that the owners are not committed to winning this season. We will lose the game today.

The only starting pitchers on the Giant staff who are reliable are Ryan Vogelsong and Madison Bumgarner. You cannot win a division title with just two solid starters, unless you have an outstanding bull pen which we do not have. I thought we would have three strong starters, but Matt Cain has proven that he is only a .500 pitcher and may win three more games this season. What a pity! Mr. perfect has become very imperfect. I say have a house cleaning and get rid of Lincecum, Cain and Zito. Keep Melkey Cabrera and dump Hunter Pence. He has the wrong batting coach. They need his bat to win consistently, but when he does start producing it may be too late. Do you think the Giant administrators care? No!

Who do you recommend we start over Zito?

"In the face of a loss yesterday why is Barry Zito starting"

Have you ever heard of a starting pitcher rotation? That's why dummy.

You should also know that in the dog days of August, you don't want to skip starters and get the rest of the rotation spent even more as you enter the last third of the season.

Well they were going to let Theriot pitch, but he was out too late practicing his 300 foot flyballs....pagan was soft tossing to him (in reality throwing as hard as he could)..

You are obsessed with Wheeler... He's not ready for the majors, and still wouldn't be if he was here... Get over it already.

+1

I wish he'd stop bringing him up every other post. You'd think we let a Don Drysdale get away or something.

I would not mind starting Brad Penny. I believe he could pitch five good innings. I would not mind starting George Kontes or Jose Majares. These are relief pitcher, but it seems to me that Zito must be relieved.

There has to be someone who can do better.

That may be the political correct thing to do, but if a pitcher automatically loses almost every game, it is time to make a change. It has nothing to do with what you mentioned- it has every thing to do with money. Zito must earn his big check at our expense.

Zito is 8 - 8 with a 4.27 era, that's about right for a number 5 starter.

You are not real bright today trollport.

Sometimes looking at the guys full work for the year means something too, remember when you were calling Posey rally killer and other various names during his small slump?

You seem to have a different opinion....lol Take a look at those morsels of delight on the Grizzlies roster... I was almost wondering if Fresno has an older team?
