I've been thinking about who would sign Loney after the season ends and wonder If there would be any takers. I hope he could latch on a team in need of a excellent defensive first baseman. Just wondering.

Maybe the Rockies? He always hit well there. Helton's getting up there.

Colorado seems like a logical choice for both parties...if Loney has any chance at a career resurgence, it's probably in Coors.

The Astros announces also seem to have a chubby for him. Local boy too. Might work out for him there as well. From what I recall, he hits in that launching pad.

True about Houston as well with El Horsey now rotting in Miami.

I heard old horsey was going to get traded to the Yanks and refused. What a slug. Glad we didn't get him.

I heard that too. What is wrong with that guy? He obviously has no interest in a pennant race.

ANother logical choice with Houston is with them moving the AL, the would now have the DH, which would help compensate for Loney's offensive shortcomings.

I'm hoping his defense has value.

Helton is going under surgery, Rockies seems like a good fit.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. James will be fine, that is of course as long as he hasn't wasted every dollar he has made in his career.

I'd guess he's back in LA on a one-year deal, playing back-up and defensive replacement for Napoli, who splits time between catcher and 1B. I don't think anyone else would look at him as a starter. If he does go somewhere, I'd agree Colorado and Houston most likely destination.
