No one on the Cubs gets on base. Hard to win if you don't do that.

Yeah, tough going right now. The offense is non-existent. I guess we just ride this one out until a couple players figure things out at the dish............

Wow jr, 12? Really? That would mean another sweep at the hands of the Reds. Come to think of it, that looks more likely all the time. On top of that, even the Astros look like beating us now so watch that series at Wrigley next week with interest.

i reckon even a bad team can scratch out a win now and then, so it could end any day.
i can see numerous losing streaks the rest of the season though with wins here and there.

Nobody looks the slightest bit determined at the plate, i guess being on a team spiralling toward 100 losses does that to your psyche. Jackson can't get any wood o the ball, Castro is really in a funk, Soriano has gone back to his streaky best, (or should i say worst) and even Rizzo has cooled down from his hot start. I think we'll be waiting until one of the Houston games next week before we break out of this losing malaise we're in and even then it won't be a sure thing.

Think you're right givitmyall, the old 'blind squirrel' scenario, hard to believe it will come against the Reds, assuming we can beat San Diego today.

Well it seems when we score, we give up a lot of runs, and when we pitch decently, we don't score. I have seen an indication yet that that will change. Of course I would think the best chance the Cubs would get to a win is today, but we'll see.

... in a 35 inning game where he also strikes out 8 times.

That's simply not possible since he only has 5 AB's!!!

The Cubs losing ways started in April and should continue until the end of the season.

Ricketts is going for the #1 draft pick.

Hopefully soon....we really need to get it going if we're going to reach 79 wins.
