Melky actually had a very good year in KC last year too. He had a down year in Atlanta and the Braves dumped him (too soon in my opinion). I would expect him to return to his norms next year which is hitting about .280, 10-12 HR, and 60-70 RBI. Yes, the Braves have had players come and excel. The one that comes to mind is Davey Johnson who had averaged 10HR and 60 RBI in the previous 7-8 years with the Orioles and came to the Braves and hit 43 HR and had 99 RBI. Bet the Orioles were crying over that. He soon returned to normal although his power numbers were a little better.

He was good in NY at a very young age. Atl just caught him at the wrong time.

I reviewed the numbers and you are correct. I would say slightly below average but no need to argue semantics.

The last 33 games (Since June 1st): .220/.275/.333 (.608), but I'm sure you knew that.

The saddest part of that is it's still better than Uggla even though Blanco did have 30 Ks in those 33 games (8/30 BB/K).

He even had more homeruns than Uggla in that span.

I don;t get why some people don't understand that. You have the occasional year long slumps (Dunn last year) but typically it all evens out.

Rather than understand that, people say a guy is a hero one week and a bum the next. In my head I'm always thinking "do you not remember when we just went through this with so and so". You would think people would catch on eventually.

It's a good thing certain "constanza is a winner" people aren't too big on diving into the numbers or calculating them on their own...
