had we kept Omar Infante at 4 million per season, rather than adding uggla at $13 million per. It gives you a guy who is more of a contact hitter, allowing you to drop another contact hitter (Prado) into an RBI position. It also allows you 9 more million, to add to the 14 million that we will pick up from Chipper, to basically go get whoever you want. for 23 million I would be a kid in a candy store. Surely you number guys can find value in 2 guys (Prado and Infante) that combined, strike out around 100 times, rather than 1 guy who strikes out around 150+. The value in 30+ homeruns, isn't worth more to me, than two guys striking out less and putting the ball in play more, especially at the top of the lineup.

Two guys who hit .280 - .300 and combine strikeout around 100 times, is better than a .230+ hitter, who strikes out 150+ times, who can hit 30 homeruns.

I agree with you, however, the Braves are all about the long ball.

Omar simply didn't hit enough home runs.

the irony is, do we really hit the long ball?

This current Braves team does not have a true power lineup.

And the Braves are about 25 million dollars away from a true power lineup.

But needless to say, the Braves FO will constantly bring in dogs like Nat McLouth and Juan Francisco to give the illusion that the Braves are able to compete with true power clubs.

Personally, I would like to see a team and a manager with the capabilities to play small ball.

But that just isn't likely to happen.

He's like hotlanta in a lot of ways.

Only thing worse than the losses themselves is when it leads to Chip, Hotlanta, Bigdaddybrave and richie etc taking over the board. Not worth even showing up most of the time.

For what it's worth they're 2-2 vs the Nats in the last 4. That's cherry picking though because they're also 2-3 in the last 5 (last 2 series total)
