I think we can pick up 4 games on the Rangers over the next two weeks. Possibly even close the gap entirely.

We start out with 3 in Oakland with Weave, CJ and Zack on the hill. That big park up in Oakland may be just what CJ and Zack need to really get it going. Then we come home for 10 games against the M's, Indians and Rays with Weave, CJ and Zach getting the last 3 against the Rays.

At the same time the Rangers are in Boston for 3 starting tomorrow then they have to go home for 3 against the Tigers followed by a trip back to NY for a 4-game set with the Yankees. They'll finish up the 2 weeks with 3 in Toronto.

We simply have to take advantage of these next two weeks. It sure looks to be set up nicely for us.

That would be nice. Of the list, I think the Angels can catch the Rangers IF the pitching returns to form, and the bullpen doesn't keep blowing saves.

Hopefully a faerie magically fixes the bullpen, and the total lack of clutch this team possesses.

Without some serious accountability from these pitchers in the BP, this team may be looking at a 3rd or even last place finish in the AL West. 95% of the losses recently are bullpen losses. The starters are not without a little blame themselves by not being able to get past the 6th inning. The offense has been producing. Save for a few guys whom we all know who they are.

It was no surprise to me that while Wells was out, the team had a fun chemistry and played loose. Since his return, and Mike's inability to see past his own idiocy, that all changed and we are seeing April all over again. Until he stops tinkering and out-thinking himself, this trend will continue. He is the
Tony Sparano (Miami Dolphins ex-head coach) of baseball. Play not to loose instead of playing to win! Yes I am a Dolphins fan, and he and Sparano are so much alike, it's uncanny! So frustrating with just mind boggling moves. They will continue to see poor results when you mess with consistency.

I don't care how much a guys contract is worth. Winning without that player in the lineup is worth sitting him if he is not producing. Stick with what got you those wins Mike. You are the teams worst enemy!

April 30, Angels record 8-15 put us in a big hole and I said it could really cost us in the long run, it is hard to make up 9 games out when the other teams in your division are just as good as the Angels. The Angels can still get into the playoffs but we will need help from other teams as the Angels just can't pull ahead of the race by themselves.

I couldt agree with you more. We need to look at the big picture. Our guys need to take advantage of any opportunities we can. This is what I call small ball, hacking you way back to the top a chip at a time! Thanks for a positive post!!!

They can pull ahead by themselves but it will take going on a streak similar to what the A's went on to get back into the race.

They can do that over the next 13 games. Gets tougher the following 9 games. But then a run of 16 games that they should be able to use to gain ground before final showdowns beginning mid-September.

Beautiful. Just what the doc ordered for the team and just what we needed.
Sieze the opportunity Angels. Let's roll.

We could really use a blow-out tonight to help set up the rest of the series. And with Weave on the hill I like our chances.

I will be watching closely. This season is not over by any means.

I also blame the offense who seem to go into slumber mode when we get a one or two run lead.

Really they tend to go into slumber mode with any lead most nights. It's like it's break time for the O, let the bullpen settle it.

What are the chances Weaver, Greinke and Wilson going the distance in this series? It's a lot to expect I know.

It would be nice not to use the pen and let those guys sit and watch for awhile.

That would be fantastic! Been a while since we've had one go 9.

They are a weak hitting team that's gotten hot, mostly with timely hits. Time to cool them off. Weave's a good one to start it off.

One game at a time. Each player accountable and just do their respective jobs. Weaver is the best option to get that started.

No team can keep up the pace they were on. Especially a weak hitting team. They had a nice run. Now it ends.

It could happen especially tonight with Weaver going. Hope so.
That would set the tone for the next two games.

It would only be fitting... last week our pitching woke up the sleeping giant Rangers. Now we need to settle down the mouse that's roaring A's.
