"We will need some SP. Myers will most likely be gone and Happ will most likely prove he isn't worth his price tag. There is also the possibility Wandy gets moved."

Lyles, Norris, Clemens, Aneury, Weiland, Keuchel, Oberholtzer, Cosart, Harrel...off the top of my head. I don't see us needing to go out and sign anyone; we can't afford anyone great, and we have no need of FA filler since it won't help us in the long run.

Marcum will command at least a three-year deal worth at least $10-$12 million a year. I just don't see us as needing to spend that kind of money on a guy who will be in their mid-30's and likely on another team by the time we're legitimately competitive again in 3-5 years.

On the subject of Marcum, that Marcum for Brett Lawrie trade might turn out to be a lopsided one if Lawrie does indeed develop into an elite hitting third baseman.

Nobody wants Wandy or Myers..

So if we can't move Wandy, do we trade Norris? He is has got to be close to his highest value ever.

Wandy's value should rise at the deadline when some more money has come off the deal and teams are more desperate for help. And the problem with Myers is that he had a terrible year; if he bounces back, now that it's the last year of his contract, we should get some interested parties. The Pirates, for example; what if this is their year to contend, with Pujols and Fielder gone and Braun out for 1/3rd of the season? If they're in contention around the deadline and want to add a solid starter but can't afford a long-term deal and don't want to give up elite prospects, a guy like Myers could be perfect for them.

I get Myers, but Wandy is a good pitcher. This has to be on the front office for refusing to pay his salary.

I could Honestly see the Brewers Intrested in Carlos Lee to play 1st base. Just sayin Call Me crazy but 3B Taylor Green prospect in there system or Taylor Jungmman RHP in there system would be ideal.

Houston can pay half the Salary and Carlos Lee can play 1st for a play off team.

"Call Me crazy"

If you really think we could get a prospect like Jungmann for Carlos Lee then you ARE bonkers.

If we lived in his world, we'd be 57-time world champions.

"Let him finish out his contract with St. Louis. And when we get over to the American League [in 2013], we’re going to need a DH," - Jeff Luhnow talking about Lance Berkman

We'll need a DH though. Who would be your pick, Chris Johnson?

Chris Johnson? Why on earth would anyone pick him? I'm not saying Berkman won't be productive in 2013, but there are younger (likely cheaper too) options that will be available. It's laughable that Chris Johnson is the first name you threw out there...

Not if you are looking at our current roster.

Fukudome just signed with the White Sox for 1M (500K salary + 500K buyout). I used to think he was overrated, but that's a pretty good deal, imo. He would make a great 4th outfielder/spot starter.
