People actually started to respect the team while he was coach. Then they got Gillespie. Then they went all the way to the bottom of the barrell.

I like you and I'll be happy FOR YOU if they win, but I just can't respect anyone who is willing to cheat to win. That isn't really winning. It's like Barry Bonds' HR record. I don't respect it. Aaron, Maris, and Ruth are the real HR kings. In my mind, everything Cal touches is instantly vacated whether the NCAA sees it that way or not. I think most fans around the country view it the same way.
