leviticus 11:10 reads "But whatever is in the seas and in the rivers that does not have fins and scales among all the teeming life of the water, and among all the living creatures that are in the water, they are detestable things to you."
i live on the gulf coast, and there ain't no way i h3ll i'm going to stop eating shellfish.
christians seem to love to condemn people to h3ll. makes them feel better about their own chances.
I'm a little surprised that you would have a disrespect (hatred??) so deeply rooted for those of us that believe differently than you.
I can assure you we are no threat to your well being...or that we really don't have a mystical fire and brimstone capability.
Great comments, pap.

disrespect? hatred? he's not the one who suggested that someone was going to h3ll for eating shellfish.
Did I read this right?
Yak: Christians condemning people to <hell is very unChristianBravepap: Why you hating, bro?Yak: I'm not hating.Bravepap: It's ok to be hating if you want.
Just commenting on what I see as a break down in communication.
Not exactly...he has a right to his beliefs, even if I don't agree with them...but this isn't about just this series of posts...or shellfish :)....it's about a long standing issue that will probably never change, and is mostly about a "blanket description" for those that don't share a like opinion.
In this case, I was offended by what I percieve as mockery to a religious picture...I have tried to, and will continue to try, to be respectful of what others believe...but I will also continue to voice my opinion...just as I did previously.

It's a shame because Yak is intelligent and gives good information. However, the way he conducts himself when people disagree with him is offputting.
