Tough one.

Melky and Proctor are equally improved. I voted Melky though since I only get one choice.

No brainer scott procter..without him we are not in the playoff picture. His ERA in the last two seasons were over 5...

<Wang leading? How come? He's pretty much the same as last year ...>

Because people apparently don't know what the words "most improved" mean. But hey, no problem. They probably have a lot of self-esteem.

I agree - Wang was pretty good last season and he's pretty good this one too. Melky played way too little last season for a meaningful comparison, IMO.

Robbie Cano is improved, but not as much as Proctor. Cano could go on exactly like last year and have a respectable ML career. Proctor could go on exactly like last year and be out of MLB before the end of this season, or at best, get a few shots with KC, the D-Rays, or the Nats.

its hard to pick just one

WANG - has improved alottttttttt people think hes just been dominant like always but it goes further than that, this year hes settled in when theres runners on, last year he used to blow it when that happened

CANO - has been dominant but more lately after being injured

Proctor - like we needed a overpowering pitcher and there wasnt none other than farnsworth and Wagner in the market and he steped up big

but melky has been great although could still improve more

Opponents are hitting for a higher AVG with runners on against Wang this year than last

Seriously. Melky was like night and day, last year to this year. Wang got better, but he was good to begin with.

"how could it be anyone else but the melkman."

Dont forgot about Proctor who has been the workhorse for us coming out of the bullpen. He leads the AL and i think MLB in appearances and has developed into almost an elite pitcher in the AL.

Melky stepped up huge this year, but where would we be without Proctor?

Edit: hes actually 4th in MLB in appearances:

S Torres PIT 3.36 ERA 89 G
M Capps PIT 3.99 ERA 79 G
B Howry CHC 3.24 ERA 79 G
S Proctor NYY 3.63 ERA 78 G

Posada would be up there too.

But you have to hand it to Proctor.

good point and i could lean that way but, melky was so horrible last year i never thought he would make the club this year. and without matsui going down he wouldn't have.
