Only the 22nd Major League pitcher to reach 300 wins, Maddux reflects on his successful stretch in Atlanta, his return to the Cubs and the great Chicago fans as host of "This Week In Baseball," presented by Pepsi.

TWIB airs Saturday as the lead-in for the FOX Saturday Baseball Game of the Week, in which the Cubs take on the New York Mets at Shea Stadium. Check your local listings for air times.

In "Beyond the Fence," Cubs pitcher Mark Prior takes the TWIB crew to an off-season mechanics workout with pitching guru and former Braves pitcher Tom House.

Chip said that tonight's game would be telecast on "Cubsnet". Isn't that a nice way of saying WCIU for Chicagoans only?

Next Game vs Reds Mon., September 27 @ 7:05 p.m. CT
TV: WCIU
Radio: WGN 720

If CLTV stands for "Can't Locate on TV" I wonder what WCIU would stand for ?

It bugs me when the game is being telecast, but only in the local Chicago area. If nothing else, I should be able to get in the opposing team's telecast over the satellite, but those tend to be blacked out.

I'd rather like to hear what the other team's announcers are like and what they're saying about our Cubbies....especially if that's the only way I can watch the game. In past years I've even watched ESPN in spanish when that was the only way I could watch the game. My spanish is lousy, but I can figure out the score so long as it isn't a high scoring game. <smile!>

Was Estes traded or a free agent last year? I recall that he was left off the playoff roster for the Cubbies last year.

Checked the tv listings for the Reds website at:

cincinnati.reds.mlb.com

Next Game: Mon., September 27 @ 8:05 p.m. ET
Radio: WLW 700

No tv listings offered at all from that page. :(

Looks like it is WCIU or the radio... :(

Did you see the Fox Sports poll asking which Cub player would be the best to resign?

I'm guessing that they meant RE-SIGN, not resign.

Funny how that word changes meaning so easily....

MLB.TV might have the game available...I'm not sure.

However, I'm not the type to watch a game on the computer.

Plus, I already paid for WGN and Fox Sports (quite a bit actually) and don't feel I should pay again just because they're not bothering to carry the game.

Personally, I'd prefer that games in September at Wrigley Field be played in the daytime. Save those precious night games for the summer to avoid the summer heat. This time of year it can get chilly at Wrigley at night so day games would be preferable.

Plus, WGN seems more available to telecast daytime games since those don't interfere with their local WB network schedule.

My family has been checking in on the game via the MLB gameday feature. It is really neat. I bet Ronald Reagan would've loved having access to something like this during his ticker tape baseball broadcasting days...

I am curious how they where the ball was pitched. Is that an automated thing with the QuesTec system or just someone viewing the pitch and reporting on it?

Yes, it is pretty cool. I sometimes use it when I am at work. It would be great if there was some animations to go along with the action on the field, like a video game. You are right I bet Ronald Reagan would have loved it...

Regarding this listing:

MLB Baseball "Atlanta Braves at Chicago Cubs" Sat 10/2 3:00 PM FSCH

It is now the Fox game of the week and gametime has been moved to 12:25 pm. Hope all the ticket holders find out about this.

Tivo still hasn't made the adjustment for this programming change.

----------------

The "Race for the Pennant" show on WGN has been renamed "Wild Ride". They must've seen last night's game.

Wild Ride: The 2004 Cubs The Chicago Cubs try for the postseason for the second year in a row. Sun 10/3 12:00 PM 9 WGN

------------

Chicago Baseball Xtra is not showing up in this week's Tivo listings. I'm guessing that the Comcast thing kicked in and that this show is history. I would've preferred that they had been able to produce shows at least thru the end of the regular baseball season.

Listed in that timeslot now is:

The Sports List "Celebrity Fans" Sun 10/3 10:00 PM FSCH

Jim Belushi made the list but Bill Murray did not. Imagine that.

Ben Affleck made the list and he does mention Nomar...

-------

BTW, Regis did ask Mia Hamm about her hubby Nomar on the Live with Regis and Kelly show this week

I just ran a Tivo search on "Chicago" with no baseball related results. How weird is that?

A Cubs search came up with the listings I posted earlier with a few updates:

MLB Baseball "Atlanta Braves at Chicago Cubs" Fri 10/1 2:10 PM TBS

The Fox National game of the week still shows teams TBA.

If they bail from airing the Cubbies will Fox or WGN be around to air it in time? Imagine changing the game time for a tv telecast (you know some poor soul with tickets is going to miss the game because of this change) and then having the game not air. Arrrgh!

-------

I still have the "Race for the Pennant" show on my Tivo from August. Oddly enough, the name for this program has also been changed to Wild Ride. Weird.

Off topic: I try to Tivo every episide of PWC-TV. It was set to record it today, but I received Pacifiic Trout Channel program or something like that. So now I have to deal with the loss of new episodes of PWC-TV til next year and who knows what other tv sports programming will come to an abrupt end?

I am so disappointed with results this season. I had such high expectations, probably my fault there. Even if by some miracle they make the wild card, it's probable that they will be gone in the 1st round. Anyway, what is PWC-TV? Thanks for all the updates.

PWC-TV is Personal WaterCraft TV. You know, jetskis, wave runners, that sort of thing.

www.watercraft.com/tv.asp

Professional Walleye Trail was not quite the program I was looking for. :)

PWC, PWT - there really is a difference! <G>

So, to get back on topic...do you think Dave Kingman watches the Professional Walleye Trail program? <smile!>
